Pros: Lovely peaceful location. It looked newly decorated/renovated, fixtures and fittings were all nice and new and modern. The cleaning was immaculate. Kitchen was very well equipped. All the rooms were spacious although the sloping ceiling in bedroom restricted movement a bit. Very nice welcome pack of basics and treats including fresh milk.
Regarding some of the other strange reviews: yes the bedroom ceiling was slopey (obvious from the photos) but the bed was not really an issue and I'm 6'6"! Mattress was not bouncy at all, in fact it was a John Lewis medium support mattress. There were no visible cameras anywhere although it looked like something wired had been removed from the front door and entrance. "Nobody on hand to help with heaters" - well if you want the temperature up you press the "+" button and if you want it down, it's the "-" button... not rocket science! The electric radiators are great, very responsive and the best option for a property like this. "No privacy in bathroom" - there is no window in the bathroom so as private as you can get! There is a walk of about 6 feet from the gravel where you park to a gate, then a gravelled path down the side of the garage to the entrance steps... the gravelled pathway does have 3 spaced-apart steps but it also has security lighting along it so hardly an issue. They even send you a link to a video before you arrive to show you it which was good.
Cons: On the Monday morning we were woken up at 5:30am by the owners slamming car doors and driving away with very loud V8 (?) engines in their cars directly outside the bedroom window (the apartment is above the garage and the bedroom faces where they park) - very annoyed to be woken up at this time, especially as they make a lot of comments about being quiet and respecting neighbours, etc!
Otherwise only minor "improvements" such as bathroom heated towel rail very slow to heat up. However, the Monday morning really left a bit of a sour taste to what was supposed to be a quiet, peaceful, relaxing break. Would assume that happens every weekday morning (?!) so probably wouldn't stay again other than on a Friday or Saturday night which is a real shame as it pretty much ruins the day. Would have scored a 10 without this issue but would have scored a 5 if we'd only stayed that 1 night.

The property was stunning and exactly what we wanted. It was exceptional and private, even our own little garden area.
The facilities had everything we could ever have needed and a beautiful welcome basket, which was so lovely to receive and use.
We met the owners, who were truly lovely and wanted us to let them know if we came across any problems or issues, to let them know BUT no issues and we couldn’t have asked for more from the property or the surroundings.
We couldn’t find anything wrong, the property was beautiful.

The property is exactly as described. Could not have asked for a better place to stay. Peaceful, in the forest and surrounded by nature. I will be staying there again as just the perfect location.

Nicely refurbished, quiet, close to good pub
Fridge and freezer were not switched on before we arrived, needed to ask for a wine bottle opener and there wasn’t a bread knife. Check in too late and check out too early.
