Wir haben es sehr gut gefunden und wurden sehr freundlich empfangen. Alles wurde gezeigt und erklärt und für Rückfragen stand sie jederzeit, wenn nötig einfach telefonisch zur Verfügung. Es war sehr stilvoll mit alten Möbeln eingerichtet, die Betten waren sehr bequem und sauber und auch das Bad war sehr sauber.
In der Küche hätte ich mir ein klein wenig mehr Ausstattung gewünscht. Leider fehlte es an einzelnen Geschirrteilen, wie zB. Tassen und tiefen Tellern, die vielleicht mal zu Bruch gingen und nicht wieder ersetzt wurden. Und Kochlöffel waren gar keine da. Wir improvisierten dann halt einfach, was gut funktionierte.
In der Beschreibung steht, dass Toilettenpapier und Bettwäsche vorhanden ist und Handtücher zur Verfügung gestellt werden. Es gibt eine Rolle Toilettenpapier und die Wäsche für Bett und Bad kann gemietet werden. Stand so leider nicht in der Beschreibung. Allerdings meldet sich die Vermieterin davor sehr nett per Handy und bietet es einem an, was natürlich einiges an Gepäck erspart.
Für die Küche muss alles an Verbrauchsmaterial mitgebracht werden. Es gibt keine Grundausstattung wie zB. Salz, Zucker usw. Wobei sie mit Sicherheit aushilft sofern sie es in ihrer Wochenendwohnung da hat. Ich hatte zur Sicherheit fast alles mitgenommen um über das Wochenende zu kommen. Im Dorf, das gut zu Fuß zu erreichen ist, gibt es kleinere Läden und ein sehr gutes Restaurant. Mit dem Auto ist man in 20 Minuten auch in verschiedenen Supermärkten, wo man alles bekommt.
Die Kinder waren natürlich vom Pool ganz begeistert, den wir eine Woche nur für uns hatten, bis spät in den Abend (beleuchtet!)hinein ,auch so haben sie sich dort wohl gefühlt.
Ach ja, das WLAN ging nach anfänglichen Schwierigkeiten irgendwann, ist aber nicht überall stark genug gewesen. Und der kleine Fernseher hatte nur italienische Programme und es wurde in den Regeln drum gebeten, nichts zu verstellen. Alles in Allem fühlten wir uns sehr wohl, würden dort auch wieder hingehen und können es auf jedenfall weiterempfehlen

We had the good fortune to find this accomodation. The location, quality of the home and kindness of the owners far exceded our expectations.
House was very clean and well equiped also kitchen. All very close to our favourite city Castellina Marrittima. My highest complement is to say I cannot wait to return

We had a very enjoyable fortnight's stay in the top floor of this lovely villa in Castellina Marittima. The apartment was clean, well maintained, and nicely furnished. The facilities were as described in the listing on HomeAway's website. The rooms were more spacious than we had expected, with a big balcony and views over the hills and sea (even Corsica on a clear day). The property is a 5 minute walk (uphill) to the centre of the village, which has all the amenities we needed - several restaurants, bars/cafes, grocers shops, 2 banks/cash machines, and a post office. It is a 20 minute drive to good beaches at Vada, Mazzanta and Cecina, but we thought it nice at day's end to be able to leave those resorts and return to the hills where it was quieter and (slightly) cooler. There is an excellent beach at Golfo di Baratti, an hour's drive to the south, which we thought was worth the journey. The pool is great and much appreciated at the end of a hot day's sightseeing ! Pisa, Lucca and Volterra are all about an hour's drive away, Florence about 1.5 hours, but we thought Siena a bit too far (twice the distance to Volterra). We were charged 70 euros for cleaning, and were asked for a 150 euro damage deposit which was returned promptly at the end of our stay. Some basic items - sheets, towels, toilet roll, washing up liquid, tea towel and bin bags - were not provided but otherwise we had no complaints and thought the cost of the rental represented excellent value for money. All in all, I would wholeheartedly recommend this property to others.
