The villages of Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo are great locations, a little off the beaten track, but only 10 miles from the nearest city (Plymouth) and within easy reach of Dartmouth, Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Burgh Island. Be warned however, that the villages are quite hilly, so it's an easy walk down to the riverside, provided you don't mind the climb back up again. There is a lovely walk around Noss Mayo and Revelstoke Drive (see National Trust web site for details). The local cafe (The Green) is very good, as is Ben's Farm Shop. The local Coop is ok for basics, we used the Tesco at Lee Mill for other provisions.

This was our second stay in Meadow Lodge. It's perfect-really clean with fresh smelling sheets, a cosy carpet, comfortable sitting room and the lodge is so peaceful and surrounded by greenery. The owners left us some milk and cookies which was very welcoming. The area is gorgeous- had an early morning paddle board on the river, dinner and drinks in the riverside pubs and we were close to some great beaches. Definitely recommend.

Meadow Lodge is possibly the best appointed accommodation I have stayed in. Comfortable beds, good shower, quality crockery and cutlery, good array of utensils and a suitable amount of board games and books. The flowers, cookies and milk on arrival were appreciated.
This may sound churlish, but it was disappointing there is no provision for recycling on site. As would be expected the rain on the roof sounds quite thunderous at times.
