This apartment was right at the bottom of the walk to the chateau. It was right around the corner from everything in this beautiful little town. The river is literally just around the corner. There is a grocery a few blocks away. After staying in hotels for several days, it was a wonderful respite for us in the heart of the Loire Valley. It was easy driving distance to many Chateaus and the ability to do laundry was a big plus. We had a little difficulty parking. My husband uses a cane and we parked in the Jean D’arc free parking for the first few days but it is about a 10-minute walk which wasn’t the best thing for my husbands legs. The day we checked out we needed to be closer to the apartment and couldn’t park in the same place due to the market being there. We were confused about parking in the “payant” spaces overnight but visited the tourist office and they told us that after a certain hour in the evening, it’s okay to park until the morning. In fact, when we got our ticket that evening in the pay park it gave a morning time to either pay more for the space or move it. So, it worked out but it was confusing. The place itself was very comfortable and it was a very nice home pace for our trip for a few days. Thanks to the owners for hosting us !

We had SUCH a brilliant stay in Chinon - even though I had a broken ankle and all the intended cycling and walking we'd planned was almost impossible (on crutches)! This apartment is in a wonderful position - fairy-story fabulous near the castle in the oldest part of town - close to great restaurants and bars and perfect for shopping and just absorbing the atmosphere. The apartment itself was really comfortable and well-decorated. Big comfy bed, well-equipped kitchen and dining area, wonderful bathroom and really good seating in the lounge. We were only two so we had the luxury of space and didn't use the sofa beds. Or cot or high chair. Valerie is a great communicator and let us know about everything in very good time. Even on the last day - when I got muddled up and forgot we were checking out that day - she and her lovely cleaner tolerated us packing up fast after the 11am deadline, for which we were very grateful. (stupid us!) I can't recommend it highly enough. I could live there permanently. And was so sad to go. Would go back tomorrow if I could.
