Béatrice was a wonderful host. The property was very quiet and central to all things in the Loire. However, if you need connectivity, you will have a problem. Cell service is non existent and the Wi-Fi was weak and extremely slow.

I can’t speak more highly about our stay at the Relay Priory. We stayed for a week and the property was historic, tranquil, and relaxing - exactly what we were looking for. We wanted to stay in the castle region if France but not in a city. We enjoyed opening the windows, drinking espresso outside, and swimming in the pool. We rented a car and visited as many chateaux, towns, and cities as we could - everything was so close and our longest day trip was only a 40min drive to Amboise. The owners of the priory stay on property in a separate building and we’re so welcoming upon arrival and throughout our stay. They had many local recommendations and went out of their way to make our stay wonderful, including a tour of the property. She even emailed after we left to recommend a hidden gem restaurant in Paris (which was our next stop on the trip) and it was an amazing place. Thanks again for such a fabulous stay, we will dream about coming back!

A beautiful property in lovely surroundings - very tranquil and calm. Lots of space to play games and places to explore and a great swimming pool to cool off in!
The hosts are lovely - very welcoming and have lots of useful information on local attractions and events.
We would definitely love to visit again!

We had a wonderful time at Prieure de Relay, Beatrice is a brilliant and highly informative host and her and Stefan will go out of their way to help.
The house is comfortable bar classically French lumpy pillows (!) but we felt that the kitchen needed some updating, old chopping boards, pans and an oven that felt like a hazard.
We also felt the outdoor furniture for relaxing is insufficient and fans could have been provided for all rooms considering it was 40 degrees. There are no curtains either as the shutters are attached to the windows meaning that if the windows are open so are the shutters. Our children therefore had to sleep with their door shut to keep out the light.
Please be warned about the WiFi, having read a review about it not being good I had double checked this with Beatrice and she assured me it was good, it is not, the only place it works is by the router in the sitting room. We wanted to plan days while sitting outside or near the kitchen but it just didn’t work plus signal is minimal due to its (lovely) rural location.
As well as this, be aware that the pool is shared with 2 other properties, we were unaware of this.
Having said all of the above, I just wanted to make others aware, we had a wonderful time. The location is superb and we had a fabulous holiday.
