Need a full length mirror and darker curtains on 2nd floor bedroom. Everything else is amazing.

Appartamento bellissimo, caratteristico e molto curato e pulito, in posizione ottimale. Unica pecca (ma anche il suo lato più particolare) le scale interne. Non adatto a persone anziane o con difficoltà di deambulazione.
Se fossi l’host attrezzerei un po’ di più la cucina, con qualche stoviglia in più, e magari farei trovare dei prodotti per l’igiene personale nella doccia. Piccoli dettagli che renderebbero la casa ancora più confortevole

This place exceeded expectations. Despite the high ratings, I was a bit apprehensive given that it's an old building in an old small town, but the unit was very spacious, stylishly appointed, spotlessly clean, and had every amenity one could ask for, including a moccamaster coffee maker (like I use at home). I had no idea about the location really, just that it was right in Bayeux, but I didn't realize it was right on the main street with restaurants, markets, shops, etc right outside your door. Every day, it was an easy stroll to a market to buy food to cook at the unit, or a restaurant, or a boulangerie. We stayed Friday thru Monday so I think this worked out perfect for us in terms of parking because there's a spacious lot behind the unit that's apparently free on the weekends. YMMV but we never paid and never had an issue. We were gone during the days taking day trips to various areas in Normandy, but that was a concern of mine before, but it was so easy. Communication with the host and access via a lockbox was very easy as well. Highly recommended, and if/when I return to Normandy, I will definitely try to come back here.
Just be aware of the late check in (5pm). I had forgotten, so I was a bit confused upon arrival.

Pros: The location can’t be beat. Interior decor is great.
Cons: If you are not slim, this is not the home for you. The entry and stairs are exceptionally narrow. A plus size person could not fit. The shower sprayer has no attachment so it just lays on the floor, and you must hold it the entirety of the shower. We visited in November and despite freezing temps, all of the here’s were off. We had to turn them on and wait for the place to heat up. —it never did. The beds had no top sheet - just a fitted sheet and a comforter. No blankets supplied so we were absolutely miserably cold. Filthy towels in the kitchen to dry your hands (they literally looked like someone used it to scrub a floor). Used sponge to wash dishes. The kitchen doesn’t have any drawers for utensils, and when I asked the host where to find them, his response back just asked if I was serious (come on - you are hosting international guests - don’t be a jerk). For whomever needs to know, there are drawers in the table (I’d never seen that before). The silverware are in one of the drawers, but are just thrown in - no organizer, just a mass of utensils.
