Beautiful views of the harbour, old world charm

The location is perfect, halfway up the Kali Strata and the view of the harbour is amazing. We liked sitting out on the terrace in the evenings and it is on the shady side of the bay in the mornings, so it doesn't get too hot. The kitchen was well-equipped and had everything we needed
It is a shame that we were not allowed to use the washing machine.

This is a spacious property with magnificent views, a superb kitchen, and is kept immaculately clean. it was great for our family group of three adult couples since it has three separate bedrooms - something of a rarity on the island. The windows are large and plentiful and this, together with the beautifully restored window shutters and effective mosquito screens meant it was easy to keep the place airy and free of insects, while ensuring darkness at night and using the shutters to keep the place cool worked well. The effective air conditioning meant the bedrooms could me kept comfortable at night. The owner-host was friendly, helpful and a delight to meet.

A/c in the rooms (the place is not overly hot but, despite being a very small island, nightlife is incredibly noisy up to very late - you can't really sleep with windows open).
When booking, I was captured by a picture with frescos on the ceiling, just to discover upon arrival that it is in another apartment (unaccessible to guests).
You don't get the villa but just the lower floor (the landlors live upstairs).
While you can infer the house is uphill, you might not be prepared to over 200 steps (there's no other way in) with lugagge (or to go any directions afterwards), as there is no indication of this on the listing.
In this context, not to offer guests with basics (water -on the island is not drinkable-, kitchen paper or napkins, shampoo or similar, some fruit or juices) means an additional 400 steps of back & forth and this is something I wouldn't do to my guests (especially as the landlords keep entering the apartment unannounced repeatedly, when you're in or out alike; update: we left early morning for breakfast on the last day, upon return, ahead of check out time, we found the cleaner inside, and she had already removed our items, such as sheets, and cleaned the rooms).
Kitchen excepted, the apartment and the furniture are quaint, and there is no living area (the small terrace is overwhelmed with sun from 10am to 7.30pm).
Also, cheap the request of 4 euro extra to use the washing machine (not that we needed that).
In sum, the overwhelming positive reviews are incomprehensible to me (but this is not the first time, unfortunately). I would simply not have chosen this apartment, had description and reviews been more realistic.
