Our second stay at the George, great location and beautiful food …..we will be back as Penrith is a great spot to stay over when travelling from the ferry ⛴️ in Cairnryan on the way to Whitby and Scarborough on the East coast

Convenient location. Room was very comfortable despite being on the small side. Fantastically equipped bathroom... awesome rain-water shower. Good quality breakfast. A very pleasant experience.

We were allocated a room on the top floor very small and dingy which smelt of cigarette smoke it was acrid and got into your lungs.
We asked for a room change and told because we booked through a third party a change or defund is not possible we don’t have any other rooms so you will have to go home if you don’t like it. You should have booked direct.
Eventually though they did see sense and another room was allocated which was fine. The initial response was not good.
