Heerlijk huis voor wie rustig wil verblijven maar toch in de buurt van Pigadia. Het huis is schoon en heeft een leuke Griekse stijl. Alle voorzieningen zijn aanwezig en werken goed, denk aan airco en een douche met een flinke waterkracht. Het terras en zwembad met mooi uitzicht zijn echt een feest. De communicatie met de eigenaresse was zeer goed. Erg fijn is ook dat het huis meerdere keren werd schoongemaakt. Kortom: we hebben genoten en raden dit huis enorm aan!
Het is lopend wel een flinke klim terug naar huis in de hitte, maar eigenlijk is er over het huis zelfs niets negatiefs te vertellen!

Petra House is the perfect choice for a relaxing holiday. The villa has authentic Greek character and is beautifully designed with great attention to detail inside. The pool is absolutely amazing, and the view from the villa is simply stunning. It offers the privacy and seclusion you need while still being just 5 minutes away from Pigadia. A wonderful place to unwind and enjoy the best of Karpathos!
That we couldn't take a longer vacation.

This might well be in my top 3 places to stay.
- Location close to the road so super easy to drive anywhere. Dedicated parking inside the gates, long driveway so no noise in the house.
- 5 min to Karpathos town, a supermarket nearby.
- Outdoor space with a pool and a view is large and comfortable to be in. No close neighbors so the place really feels your own - great for escaping a big city…or just stargazing.
- The interior looks very traditional, with quite peculiar space separation (arches and raised podiums instead of beds) and lovely decor (some Greek string instrument, Singer sewing machine, photos etc).
- Large kitchen with all the essentials.
- Two bathrooms, yay!
- Three ACs (albeit the one in the living room was acting up).
These are minor points:
- There are no doors between kitchen, bedroom and the living room - it’s a part of that traditional layout, but also means that sleeping when someone’s up can be difficult.
- A number of stray cats love the place. They are cute but also needy and can be annoying at times. Whatever their meowing conveys, they AREN’T starving or in need of food.
- Ants are around and will find unpacked food in no time, stow everything away.
- A dishwasher could have been handy.

There's a nice view to the sea and mountain. The pool is a good size in direct sunlight all day, and the area is very private. There's plenty of space to park your car if you rent one. There are two bathrooms with showers. Many cute cats visit the house frequently. The host is super nice and very responsive. You get a feel for local life in the area as it's a bit detached from the main tourist hotels. Great air conditioning (separate in each room).
It's a bit of a walk to restaurants and the return trip is all uphill. A personal preference, but for me the beds weren't great and pillows were too high. The stream in the main shower could be more even. There's no good place to put the sunbed if you want to stay in the shade, and no cover at all from rain if you wanted to stay outside when it rains (although it doesn't rain often anyway).
