Location is excellent for walking around, for taking bus or train, or getting tours as bus stop is only a short walk.
Room is comfortable; had a nice side sea view and good tv options. Walk-in shower is much better than a tub. Small fridge is nice, as is the initial drinks provided
Breakfast was quite nice with juice and water available at no cost.
It's the small things that can make or break an experience. The shower was nice, but no shelf to put your own shampoo, razor, etc.
Shampoo/soap combo squeeze tubes in shower and sink cheapens the room.
Really petty that you cannot get water to drink at dinner without paying for a bottle. Because of this, we skipped our usual wine/beer with dinner, and went for a drink elsewhere after dinner.
Relaxing on the balcony in the evening is not possible, as lights are on and cannot be turned off.
Smoke from people smoking carries to other balconies and inside rooms when you open your window to try to get fresh air. Not all the time, but once it gets in your room it's hard to get rid of it.
Although we had read about the friendliness of staff, it seemed to be for past or long time guests.

Excellent reception staff, location of hotel suited our needs, Sadly the Spanish weather was not on our side with 4 days of rain out of 5, can not comment on the Spa or pool as we did not use those services. Overall we felt the hotel was a little bit jaded, in our bedroom the furniture draws and the door to the fridge were all a bit hard to open. I would have expected better from a 4 star hotel. Mini fridge with complementary drinks was a nice touch (but we only used water). I have already shared feedback with the Mac hotel and had a nice reply from the manager who will take onboard my previous comments. As for the beds, I suffer with a bad back and was on painkillers for the whole of my trip, but i found the bed mattress very comfortable. The pillows were also great. All the staff were friendly and always seemed busy, especially in the restaurant who kept relaying tables. So overall a nice hotel but not sure we would stay again.
We had read previous reviews about the food at the hotel and was expecting it to be better than other spanish buffet hotels we had stayed at, sorry to say it did not live up to our expectations. Yes there are all the usual choices, Cereal, musli, tea, coffee, and then the usual hot food (or should I say warm food options) Luckily there is a microwave which i used daily to warm up the scrambled eggs. The usual streaky bacon with heavy fat content and tough when overcooked. The orange juice was from concentrate and often watery more like squash. (at the dispenser near the eggs). The better machine was by the Milk counter. As for evening meals, we did always manage to find something but overall we were disappointed. I'm sure if you are first in when the restaurant door opens the cooked food will be plentiful and hot, but it's kept under those usual heat lamps and any cooked meats dry out and guests do not help leaving lids off pans,
