Raglan Sunset

Friendly reception, helpfully told us we can park our motorbike in the courtyard outside our room. Comfy bed. Great location. Quiet

This was actually the most comfortable bed we slept in throughout our entire 2 week road trip around New Zealands North Island (& that included a Mercure & a Movenpick!). Location was great to walk to shops, restaurants etc.. Didn't meet any staff (they weren't there for either our check-in or departure), but there were clear instructions left for us to follow both times.

Had a few stairs to navigate with heavy luggage to get to an upper level room.

Location near the center of Raglan was nice. The room was clean and quiet, we were upstairs on the very end, so little neighbor traffic. Parking was conveniently located.

Room did not have a sink for washing dishes, though there were dishes supplied in the room. Wish there had been a lift rather than having to carry our belongings up the stairs. The door to our room was sticking to the floor and was difficult to open without a hard shove.

Location was great. The bedroom was fine.

The pillows were uncomfortable and felt cheap. The shower box was unnecessarily small which we both found awkward, yet the bathroom was big enough to have a bigger shower box Also for $200 a night for a mere motel, I would have hoped for amenities such as shower cap, cotton buds and lotion which we find nearly everywhere we stay. We would initially delighted to find out that there was a spa pool but when we went to check it out before getting changed, we found the water was not clean looking because it was not clear and parts of the spa pool were rusty and we felt this spa pool was disgusting.
