Location is fantastic, quiet area, easy walking to most attractions. Terrace overlooking the private gardens is beautiful. Rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and comfortable.
Breakfast is average, staff in breakfast room indifferent. Checkout is at 10, given the cost - 11 would feel more generous. Kettle in the room was faulty. Checkout was a bit chaotic & felt a bit like "times up, now leave" ... bags left at office near gate.

The hotel was beautifully stylish and redolent of history, and it enjoys a privileged view of the largest private garden in Europe. All the rooms feature the luxury of standing bathtubs in the sleeping area, if you can imagine! Breakfast is of high quality and more than ample, and snacks (including fresh fruit) remain available 24 hours a day. Both breakfast and aperitifs can be enjoyed on the beautiful wraparound terrace overlooking the garden. Finally, the staff were incredibly helpful, making recommendations and reserving wonderful small restaurants for us. I'm not sure we would return to Florence (as great as it is!) if this hotel didn't have room for us!
I'm struggling to come up with something, and all I can think of is that the toiletries could have been a little higher- end--I think the hotel's estimation of C. O. Bigelow must be higher than mine, as I've found their products at the dollar store, lol.
