The location was good, not downtown, near the Altstadt (2 min walk to bus, very frequent bus service, nice surroundings, food, super market nearby, beautiful view of the mountains, Salzburg is wonderful). The guest house had a certain vibe that made us travel in 1700, which was interesting. Both the common space and rooms full of religious ornaments, icons, statues, crosses. Did not bother us as orthodoxs, we are used to this more or less, the whole place is a shrine. The bathroom was renovated. We rented a mini van to drive to Vienna and there was space right outside (not private) to park the vehicle overnight. Overall a nice establishment but with a significant need for restoration and renovation. Plus a family run guest house. Our family room was very spacious for 4 persons. Salzburg stadt offers free transport for any guest, for regional travel.

a. It was not much likes the pictures, it was in a worse condition
b. Dirty, dusty, cobwebs, not to mention what is under the furniture (very heavy old furniture, almost impossible to move, but still
c. Mattresses I think very old, for sure not comfortable. I could not sleep because I have a back problem. Noisy floor and beds. Our beds in the large room had no sheets, only mattress covers. The towels were ideal for body scrub :).
d. Very few amenities (I guess common for a guest house), the refrigerator had space only for water bottles. |We would not drink tap water in such an old building.
e. Expensive for what we got. More than 150 per night with the city tax (although free transport for every guest in the Salzburg region). We did not have breakfast there.

The house obviously has a lot of history, and this shows in the decor, artwork, ornaments, and trinkets. It has it's own personality.
There isn't anything I didn't like.

Restaurant not available during our stay:( Location is quiet, but quite far from sightseeing jewels
Parking - for free parking you need to confirm your 3hours parking in your car, or....leave the car keys to the personnel. Last day we event got penalty for parking as we spent whole day away. Besides that, there is potentially lovely garden outside but - requires reconstruction....
