Beautiful period property set in lovely grounds, very peaceful. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Dining area very smart, used it for lunch and to meet friends for drinks.
Maybe the bathroom was a little dated, for example a very small shower cubicle.

The property is situated on a hillside with lush gardens, very peaceful.
In my experience the property does not really meet the international criteria for a 5 star hotel. To me it is a 4 star hotel. The services are rather limited and the execution is slow, probably due to a lack of staff training. The east facing rooms in the main building has sash windows and it’s impossible to sleep after 5am. There is no black out roller blinds in the window frame so sunlight is flooding the room. This has been commented by other reviewers but nothing has been done to correct the problem.
