Just moments from Sheringham's sandy beach and vibrant high street, The Prairie is a spacious brick‑and‑flint coastal retreat designed for memorable getaways with family and friends. Sleeping up to 10 guests across three floors, this much‑loved detached cottage offers the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and classic Norfolk charm. Step inside to find generous living spaces ideal for relaxing together after days exploring the North Norfolk coast. The cosy lounge features a TV with Sky Movies and Now TV, while the separate dining room provides plenty of room for shared meals and long evenings of conversation. The well‑equipped kitchen includes a range‑style cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, and everything you need for easy holiday living.
Ground floor: Front door leading into hallway, with doors to: Lounge: with TV/DVD player, Now TV, Sky movies, gas fire. Dining Room. Shower room, with WC and wash basin. Kitchen: with gas range style hob and electric oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave.
First floor: Stairs leading to landing with doors to: 2 Double bedrooms, 1 Single bedroom and 1 bunk bedroom (suitable for children). Family Bathroom with bath with shower attachment and washbasin. Separate WC with wash basin.
Second floor: Stairs leading to: 1 triple bedroom. Shower room with WC and wash basin.
Please note: Wi-fi. Bed linen provided, please bring own towels. Outside: To the rear of the cottage you'll find a lawned and patio garden, perfect for relaxing after days spent exploring the North Norfolk coast. The property also benefits from private parking, a rare bonus in central Sheringham. Amenities: High Chair. Travel cot available (please bring own bedding) and fixed stair gates on stairs. Pets considered £25.00 per week. Please Note: This property has a 5.00 pm arrival time. Location: beach 3 mins pubs and shops a 2 minute stroll.

It was excellent property for our purposes - with two dogs we need a garden & this was just fine. Because of the need for security for the dogs, having unloaded our luggage & using the front door we then double locked the front door & used the back door for dog walking excursions. Our only suggestion would be to have a back door external light for these dark nights.
Location great for sea, shops & eateries. Car parking wonderful.
The only thing we had trouble with was the TV. Someone had tampered with the controls & we could not get any stations. It was fixed by Monday (third day), & the engineer had to retune it. So, we would suggest more detailed instructions on the use of the tv are put in the book - the current instructions are very brief & did not cover our experience.

The house was excellent. A perfect location, just a few minutes from the beach and there was space to park two cars.

I would urge the owners and the letting agency to rent this property, with young children, to fully appreciate the client's experience and to act upon their findings. It is only then that they would be able to advertise this property with some accuracy and peace of mind. If this is not possible perhaps my observations will help to give a fuller picture. A very low level of cleanliness, with numerous cobwebs and spiders ( the living room curtains are thick with dust along the rail)... suggesting very little evidence of any deep cleaning to be Covid compliant. The musty low level kitchen cupboards do not encourage you to use the crockery. The bedrooms are damp and presented breathing problems for those in my family suffering with asthma. The whole place has very tired decor and needs redecorating. But above all imagine three children sharing the attic bedroom and the health and safety issue presented by the low level windows. Open spaces three floors up at toddler climbing height are so dangerous . .. and need addressing immediately. The window lock is not secure enough to avoid a tragedy!
