The exterior of the building is impressive and positioned perfectly just off the port of Marseille, but in a commanding position to get a great view of the surrounding area. Most of the staff were welcoming and helpful, and were able to converse in several languages.
The room was somewhat tired with some repairs needed for the plug sockets. The dark furnishings speak of a decor from a different era. The room service choices were very limited and expensive for what was offered.

Central location, cleanliness in the room and common area.
What i expected from a 5* hotel and i did not received:
- there was no luggage valet upon arrival;
-i did not have a bathroom with a bathhub;
-the ''king size'' bed was actually two twin beds pushed together with mattress of different firmness;
-i had to wait 20 minutes at breakfast for a table to become available; in the next day, i took breakfast on other restaurant;
-one evening, around10.00 pm, my sleep was disturbed by a housekeeper who entered in my room.
