Fabulous place to stay, a very clever and sympathetic build. Lovely friendly welcome. We really enjoyed learning about the history. All the amenities you could wish for and a few minutes walk into the beautiful town of Amboise. We will miss the stunning view, you really can't get better!

Great location and fantastic view

Franck, the host, is really super and was great in that he both collected us from the train station and then drove us back to the station when we left. He gave us advice on restaurants - all of which were excellent.
The location of the property is good and within easy walking distance of everything.
The view from the main room is superb. The property was very clean.
Sadly though , we did not find the apartment comfortable.
In the main room (on the middle floor) besides some hard dining chairs , there is one "settee" - although I think it is a single bed and was not at all comfy to sit on. So it was difficult to relax at the end of the day.
Also particularly disappointing were the beds and bed "areas" ( it is all open plan , so no actual bedrooms or privacy). I slept on the top floor and the small double was really hard and difficult to sleep on. Also because it really is the attic and therefore has very sloping ceilings, I could barely stand up straight. So it was difficult to dress etc.
Furthermore the metal stairs have some imprint on them , so going up and down in bare feet or socks caused a lot of pain. The other bed area with the small twin beds , is on the ground floor as one enters the property. This is a windowless , rather damp and dark area and I understood from my friend that the bed was not that comfortable.
There is only one "bathroom" (although there was a second toilet) which is on the ground floor - but it only contains a hand-held shower (with toilet and basin) - so not easy to wash oneself. And also the bathroom is difficult for the person sleeping in the attic area to access.
