the owner was really friendly and gave us lots of helpful suggestions about what to do in Huizhou. This hotel is in the middle of the ancient town so you have quick access to everything. There are lots of restaurants and shops near by but the hotel itself is very quiet and relaxing. The room was beautiful.

Great location. Less than 1 minute walk to the historical memorial arches. Warm hospitalities, fab breakfast, lovely two cats...etc. Most importantly, the hosts are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the local ancient cultures. Two thumbs up!

Wendy, the hostess was extremely helpful and when we arrived, met us at the wall to the city to make sure we found the property. Also, when we had a mix up at the pharmacy and they gave us the wrong medicine, she went back with us and corrected the problem. The property is an old historic house that has been lovingly refurbished and given a modern spin. There are two cats, Jiji and Mulan that we absolutely loved. We spent six days at September Huizhou and did not get bored, there is plenty to do in the city and a few easy day trips. If you prefer just to wander the area close to the hotel and experience the culture of the region, you will not be bored. FYI we had gone to Huangshan before arriving. While it's not extremely far, I would not do Huangshan as a day trip from here, since it is expensive to go to Huangshan and your time would be limited. Stay in Huizhou to explore the walled city and sample wonderful Hui cuisine, one of the eight major cuisines of China.
