In a quiet residential road with on-site parking for three cars, this house has an impressive hallway with open-plan staircase winding to a first-floor landing and balcony. We had a spacious room at the front with distant sea view and a massive bathroom with twin basins, bath and separate shower.
Breakfast was great: we both had freshly prepared fruit salad with masses of Greek yogurt, a full cooked English, and, to follow, we just had room for toast and marmalade, all included in the price. We shared the large table with two couples from the other two guest rooms, this table being next to large patio windows looking out onto the garden, in which there were two terrier dogs. Kathy coped magnificently with all our different breakfast orders, which she cooked herself in the adjacent kitchen. She is very efficient and no-one was kept waiting.
Radipole Nature Reserve is less than a mile away, with lots of interesting birds and potentially some otters amongst the reeds. We drove there next morning and parked in the large car park next to the southern entrance, for a stroll along the gravelled paths where Cetti's Warblers abound.
My confidence in the booking was shaken when Kathy phoned me while we were driving to our Dorset destination, asking if we were coming to stay that night. As it had all been paid for through Booking.com, and our chosen arrival time confirmed, I was worried by this. Later, when we arrived within the hour we stated, there was no reply when we rang the doorbell and knocked on the door. We wondered if we were at the wrong house, as there is no B&B sign. I had to phone Kathy to let us in. Once inside, she was very welcoming.

Kathy was a great host and breakfast was excellent, information provided in-room was well prepared and thought out.
The bed was too soft for my taste and it was creaky so kept me up in the night. The bedroom wasn't as clean as I'd expect. As much as I love dogs they were rather too noisy and apparently not too used to people visiting without a fuss, barking and yapping with one or the other wining through the early hours. The room had no comfortable seating to sit an relax and read despite being quite large.
