Ok, you are coming to Venice and you want to get the real experience? This is the place. It is an authentic Palazzo formerly (a long time ago) owned by one of the Doges..... What's good enough for him...... could just meet your expectations. Now here is a real treat just off of the most crowded spaces yet directly on the Gran Canal. Rooms are palacial retaining much of their original charm. They are not over renovated but let you experience the original charm. So if a slightly slanted floor puts you off, original stonework is too antiquated for you then perhaps a Best Western is a better choice....... and a little tip on the side..... Venice these days especially around carnival and the summer is overcrowded BUT if one morning you were to decide to go to Rialto Bridge, Piazza San Marco etc and you were to do this before breakfast ie @0630-0700 you will have the town to yourself.... AND the coffee shop around the corner is superb with quiet outside seating....

This is by far the best hotel I've ever stayed in my life. (And I've stayed in fancier hotels) Everything I truly love- The weight of history , the splendour , the ambiance touched my soul.. I spent 3 wonderful nights and days in December in the Biblioteca suite and it was worth it.. I hope to go back again with my children one day in the future..

The location was great, the size of the room fitted our family of five well.
From the arrival the greeting by a male member of staff was blunt and rude. There was eye rolling and sarcasim, when I asked a question. We also asked for Breakfast and it was immediately denied, then when asked about it for the following day, it felt like an inconvenience and even though we asked with more notice were told no.
No soap was left in the room, and the towels were not replaced. We were also left half a bottle of opened water, and this was not replenished during the duration of our stay.
