About this house rental
SANARY CITY CENTER-PORTISSOL- Beautiful architect villa built in 1920 completely and tastefully renovated in 2009 for up to 8 people with separate garden apartment, air conditioned, heated pool on request only off-season (mid-September to mid-May), parking, quiet in its own garden, 2 steps from the beach and port. 3 rooms en suite in the main building, 1 room en suite in the garden annex.
Seasonal (from Easter to All Saints) heated pool with overflow (salt filtration), wooden deck and terrace with pergola, barbecue, in a beautiful Mediterranean garden with lounge furniture. House and garden have south-west orientation.
Shops (bakery, butcher, supermarket, press) as well as gastronomy, hairdresser and petrol station with washing street 200 meters from the house.
The villa, together with the garden dependence, has a floor space of approx. 180 m².
Ground floor: entrance hall, double bedroom (electric double bed with two separate mattresses) with Italian shower and separate toilet (laundry), access to the private terrace, pool and garden
Ground floor: American kitchen overlooking the pool and garden, dining and living room, bedroom with double bed, bathroom with Italian shower and 2 sinks, separate WC, hallway with an American fridge. TV satellite. WIFI.
First floor : double room with double bed and "small" sea view, bathroom with Italian shower and toilet, office with sofa bed

A House with history. After 1933, Sanary-sur-Mer developed into a escaping point for many European artists. For the writers Sanary was also a place to work in peace. The German writer and journalist Sibylle Bedford belonging to the friends group around the Mann Family, née von Schönebeck, lived in this house until 1940. This is testified by the plaque that adorns the house facade.
A true oasis at arm's length from the city center at the Harbor, Theatre, Cinema and the beach of Sanary-sur-Mer, one of the most typical harbor towns in the south of France.
Sanary-sur-Mer, at 13 km from Toulon and 49 km from Marseille, with its authentic and typical Mediterranean fishing port, pedestrian streets lined with small shops, good restaurants and pretty squares refreshed by fountains, is a renowned tourist town, both relaxing and lively, where you will be assured to spend excellent holidays at any time of the year!
It offers a huge variety of colourful landscapes and natural sand beaches (Portissol, Golden Beach, La Gorguette, Bonnegrâce, Beaucours ...) in a sunny setting most time of the year. Many activities are at your disposal: sailing, scuba diving, tennis, climbing, hiking, fishing, cinema, casino... not to forget the inevitable sea and sun bathing!
The city whose market was elected in 2018 "France's most beautiful market", offers you the best local products as well as fresh fish from the fishermen and fresh flowers every morning on the port. In summer you can also enjoy an evening market in the pedestrian port, offering a big variety of local artisan products.
Many sea excursions depart from the port to discover marine animals (whales, sperm whales, dolphins ...) but also the natural beauty of the islands (Porquerolles, Les Embiez, Bendor) and the Calanques de Cassis!
The port is also the stage of many festivities throughout the year (Festival of traditions, Sanary Spring, Just Rosé, Music and Dance Festival and many other activities offered by local multicultural associations) including the Christmas / New Year celebrations (its beautiful illuminations have become famous).

Von außen war das Haus eher unscheinbar.Wir waren sehr angetan von Charme und der Geschichte.Die drei Schlafzimmer im Haupthaus erstrecken sich über drei Etagen und einer sehr schönen Glastreppe.Jedes Stockwerk hat sein eigenes Badezimmer.Die Heizung,wenn man Sie im letzten Stock gefunden hat,macht das Haus auch bei nächtlicher kälteren Temperaturen schnell warm..In der Küche fehlte es an nichts und auch der Grill auf der Terrasse ist perfekt. Der Garten mit dem Pool( beheizt) wirkt wie eine kleine,windgeschützte, grüne Oase in der man sich super erholen kann.Im Garten befindet sich in einem kleinen Haus,noch ein viertes Schlafzimmer,ebenfalls mit Bad.Zum Ort sind es ca.10 Min zu Fuß,Das einzige ist der doch leicht steile Schotterweg der zum Parkplatz hinter dem Haus führt.Wir waren Alle vier plus Hund,rundum zufrieden und sagen Danke. Das Haus liegt in einem ruhigen Ortsteil, zu Fuss sind der Hafen, der Markt, die Restaurants und die schöne Altstadt sehr gut erreichbar. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, auf drei Etagen gibt es je ein Schlafzimmer mit einem Badezimmer und eigener Toilette. Wir waren drei Ehepaare und so war dieses Haus für uns ideal. Schöner Garten und schöner Pool. Ein Auto konnten wir auf dem mit einem Tor gesicherten Grundstück abstellen, zwei Autos hatten wir längs der Strasse vor dem Haus. Es ist nur eine Strasse für Anwohner, immer genügend Parkmöglichkeiten.

It is a lovely villa but sadly we had booked it because of the heated pool which, unfortunately, was freezing! Having elderly guests with us who were intending to spend their time relaxing in the warm pool, it was a disaster. When we were actually on holiday in the town the Agency Manager and staff were extremely helpful but communication before that was difficult. And it proved impossible to get any help from VRBO who I would not book with again.
