About this house rental
Phoenix Nest, our romantic and spectacular oceanfront vacation home, is nestled on two glorious acres of forest right on the ocean.
The 2500 square foot, newly remodeled home is bright and airy and includes a 44-foot living room with windows throughout overlooking the ocean. The two master bedroom suites also have unsurpassed, sweeping views of the ocean. The house has great privacy. You can hear the waves crash and see the osprey and gulls fly by as the low tide unveils the rocks and sandy beach. Watch gorgeous sunsets from the deck or hot tub.
From the hot tub, enjoy watching sea lions surfing or resting on the rocks on the Havens Neck peninsula. We often see gray and humpback whales and recently blue and killer whales spouting and occasionally breaching out of the ocean.
The bluff is like a garden, covered with plants and natural wildflowers. Known as the 'banana belt,' nearby rivers provide a more fog-free and temperate climate than other coastal areas.

We were greeted by deer and the gentle barking 'hellos' of the sea lions. The house is so comfortable--more space than we imagined and the light so wonderful.. The view rates in our top three--following the Grand Canyon, Positano, Italy and tied with Villa Cinciano in Tuscany. As we say farewell to the deer and sea lions, we'll promise to return and will always remember the beauty by day and the peaceful blanket of the Milky Way by night.

We have stayed at a number of beach houses in the Gualala area and we gave The Phoenix Nest a 4.5 out of 5.Clean, great views, nice deck and hot tub. The weather was a 5 out 5, clear and warm. The first night in the hot tub the stars were amazing as was the Milky Way. The electric car charger refused to work after the first charging session. We communicated this to Patricia and she immediately responded with other charging locations in the area.

Beautiful home, well equipped, amazing views! Owner was very communicative, friendly, and helpful. Everything you need is here! There are even passes to private beaches nearby. Being a couple of older ladies, we were not aware of all the stairs so this was a challenge for us but probably not for most. Highly recommended this place!

Maryellen and George from hot Texas to Heavenly Gualala. We spent 10 days of our 3 week escape from the Texas heat in this magnificent house. The pictures do not do it justice. The kitchen is a dream. Everything works as it should with excellent cookware, abundant supplies for cooking and, rarest of the rare, sharp knives. The furnishings in the house are tasteful and comfortable. There is neither too little nor too much furniture but just the right amount and the beds are a dream. The house just flows. The views are spectacular and, very important for us, the house is very private,even secluded. Pat and Sid are wonderful hosts.They were always there to answer any question we had. Maryellen rates Phoenix Nest the best place we have ever stayed. I have learned that wives are always right. Thank you Pat and Sid for sharing your home with us.
