About this house rental

Summary:

Perched on the bluffs where the Sonoma Coast meets the sky, this home delivers drama. Soak in the hot tub as the sun dips below the Pacific. A warm fire and ocean views anchor cozy evenings in. Room for 7 in this 3-bedroom home. St. Orres restaurant is within 3 miles. All other dining, river access, and Gualala Point Regional Park are a short drive away. Art galleries, river trails, and the wild Pacific are all within reach. The ever-changing ocean light fills the home, from golden mornings to fiery sunsets.

The Space:

The Walk-In Cabins sit close to hiking trails, the Ohlsen Recreation Center, Stengel Beach, and The Sea Ranch Golf Links, but are private and serenely scattered in the Redwoods. Truly the epitome of “Living with the Land'. More outdoor and cultural activities can be found south and north of The Sea Ranch along the coast, such as the Arena Theater, the B Bryan Wildlife Preserve, Fort Ross State Historic Park, and Point Arena Light House. Gualala offers groceries, art galleries, and restaurants. With over Sea Ranch's 50 miles of trails, guests can hike deep into the redwoods, out along the bluff overlooking the ocean, or picnic at the hot spot on the Gualala River. Enjoy a round of golf at the Scottish style, 18-hole course, or a tennis match at one of six courts. For families with children, the Children’s Environmental Play Park offers a wide range of activities. With access to all three shared recreation centers, you can relax in the pools, use the saunas, play basketball, pickleball or volleyball. Guests with a dog will want to check out the dog park on Deerfield Rd. It has a large fenced-in area covered in wood chips, with plenty of toys, water, and shade to share a wild run and romp! Mind the 6’ leash law elsewhere on the Ranch. You’re sure to meet many friendly local dog owners.

Guest Access:

From the kitchen to the deck, everything in this home is at your disposal. The private hot tub is available around the clock -- no reservation needed. Driveway parking is available at the property. Detailed check-in instructions, including the door code, will be provided prior to your arrival.

The Neighborhood:

Orres Restaurant just five miles away. St. Orres restaurant is within 3 miles.

Getting Around:

Cooks Beach, a sheltered beach cove, is just a five-minute drive from the vacation home. Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) in Santa Rosa is the nearest airport, about 1.5 hours east. A car is essential for exploring the area.

Other Things to Note:

Keep your eyes on the horizon from December to April -- gray whales migrate just offshore, and this property has a front-row seat. Visit in spring for wildflower season -- the hills above Gualala and the river trails burst with lupine and California poppies. June through September brings the warmest weather. Morning fog is part of the charm -- it usually clears to reveal blue skies.

Cell service can be spotty along the coast. The home has WiFi for staying connected.

The place was great wonderful view plenty of room. The only issues we had, which were very minor was a few burners on the stove, not working which they offered to come and fix right away other than that fabulous place could use a little TLC on the outside appearance.!

We feel bad to leave a not so good review, BUT these are ALL easily fixable things. It is really a waste to have such a beautiful place and not show it off properly. My husband and I are not fussy people. We do not mind an older home as it has personality, as long as it is clean. We absolutely loved the hot tub, but the plexiglass that goes around the hot tub was absolutely filthy! It looked like it had not been cleaned in a while with bird droppings running down the side, webs and just plain dirty. Why??? THAT is the main selling point of the home - the amazing view! Then the windows in the house looking out onto the ocean were all filthy as well. The real shocker that we discovered after a few days was pulling out a couple of kitchen drawers to find rodent poop and active traps in the drawers! WTH! We understand that rodents can be a problem, but having poop in a kitchen drawer and traps not removed before guests arrive? The other thing was that the two couches in the livingroom were extremely broken down and need to be replaced. Again, these are such simple inexpensive fixes that would greatly improve the experience for your guests. My husband and I would come back to stay if these things were addressed. Other than that, we really loved the view, hot tub, privacy, etc. Just please give that place a thorough cleaning and for goodness sakes, clean the windows to show off that view! Did not have communication with the manager, but had to complete that line.
