The George Inn

Great location with parking for overnight guests in a very busy town. Room was clean, breakfast and dinner were very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Everything about The George at Castleton Derbyshire was very good from arriving the staff were helpful and polite and wasted no time showing us to our room we was in room 5 which was faultless.Massive super king-size bed comfy mattress and lovely pillows I slept well and it had great views towards winnits Pass..We enjoyed our evening meal in the most delightful restaurant of The George the old world charm was right up our street . Our Breakfast the next day did not disappoint tasty and filling plenty of choice and set you up for the day. We have now been twice and wil definitely be returning. IF you want a a overnight stay like myself or longer at a place with old world charm.friendly staff where nothing is too much trouble for there customers then choose The GEORGE at Castleton Derbyshire Peak District.

I have to say there wasn't anything I didn't like.

We had a splendid weekend (3 nights) in this clearly much loved 16th century pub in a lovely location in the centre of Castleton. The room was comfortable and well equipped with a large double bed. Breakfasts were good and filling. We had three other meals - one was a Sunday lunch. They offered 5 different cask conditioned beers; I sampled the "two local and one Yorkshire" which were in excellent condition. Finally, all the people working there were very nice and helpful. I have no doubt we will stay there again.

The location was great and the bedrooms were lovely, the experience in the restaurant was below average, waiting staff didn’t listen, the food was cold and not well presented. Breakfast the following morning was excellent.
