The breakfast was nice, but is slightly more catered to local visitors. It would benefit from ensuring that there is some English - for example, the vinegar and soy sauce bottles only had Chinese on them, so it took a bit of a guess and trying to remember the characters so the wrong condiment wasn't chosen.
The location is pretty good / central, and is roughly 7 or 8 minutes walk to 2 different metro stations, and there's a decent mall just across the road.
The road wasn't too noisy, even though our room faced it. However, it's clear that maintenance is not a high priority - there are two layers of windows to provide sound protection, and the outer layer handles are in very poor condition ie. the handle had two screws, and both of them were close to falling out. I can't believe that nobody has noticed, so it's obviously just willful ignorance hoping that nobody complains. It wasn't just our room - our son's room outer window handle just had a single precarious screw!
Also, we booked through Booking.com, and made additional comments at the time, in English. I requested a rollaway bed, our two rooms to be close together, and for any emails to be CCed to my hotmail (in case I couldn't access my gmail in China). Anyway, besides the template greeting, their subsequent message to me was in Chinese, and they didn't CC any emails. It didn't matter 'too' much since I was able to access my messages in the Booking app, and they did switch to English when I requested it. Anyway, I thought they could try a little more attention to details for guests.
Finally, it seems the hotel is in some partnership with a Chinese company, and they 'strongly encouraged' us to sign up on the Chinese mailing list to get some miniscule discount, despite the fact that I'm an Accor member. Fortunately I haven't seen any sign of spam from them.
