Situated in the quiet & family-friendly Pasadena neighborhood of East Washington Village, this spacious & charming home has been lovingly updated and upgraded!
• MASTER BEDROOM: Features a King size Tempurpedic bed with crisp, clean linens, a newly upgraded, en-suite master bathroom (shared with the Single Bedroom), 40" Smart TV with access to Netflix, Hulu, etc. (just bring your account passwords), a remote-controlled ceiling fan, & a spacious closet with a generous dresser. Room darkening curtains will ensure you are well-rested. Sleeps 2
• QUEEN BEDROOM 1: Features a comfortable Queen-sized bed with crisp, clean linens, charming antique furniture, original hardwood floors, mountain views & room darkening curtains. Sleeps 2
• QUEEN BEDROOM 2: Features a queen-sized bed with crisp, clean linens, en-suite bathroom (shared with the Master Bedroom), and room darkening curtains. Sleeps 2
• FLEX SPACE: Features a fold-out couch along with books, toys & games. Adjacent to the dining room, this is a great place to kick back or have some fun. When the sofa bed is made up it can sleep 2. THIS OPTION IS AN ADDITIONAL, NIGHTLY CHARGE & ONLY AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST PRIOR TO YOUR STAY.
• CRIB: The crib listed here is a travel cot/pack n' play type of sleeper for an infant or toddler. It's located in the Master bedroom closet, along with an additional mattress and bedding.
• KITCHEN: Completely remodeled in 2018, the kitchen boasts new stainless steel appliances which include a side by side fridge with ice & filtered water dispenser, an above stove microwave, 5 burner stove top with griddle & oven, and an automatic dishwasher. Finished with beautiful butcher block countertops, a farmhouse sink, and under-cabinet lighting. The original pine floors have been reclaimed and painted, retaining a bit of 1930s charm. A favorite feature in the kitchen is the dedicated Coffee & Tea bar with a 12 cup coffee maker, French Press, and a large selection of teas. The kitchen is well stocked with pots/pans/utensils along with pantry basics like oil, salt & pepper, and many spices to prepare a delicious meal.
• MASTER BATHROOM: Features a sparkling clean tub/shower combo, cork floors, single sink vanity with hairdryer, and plenty of soft, fluffy towels.
• MAIN BATHROOM: Features a sparkling clean shower/tub combo, charming vintage tile, cork floors, single vanity, and plenty of soft, fluffy towels.
• LIVING ROOM: Features a 55" Smart TV with access to Netflix, Hulu, etc., a modern, comfortable sofa, 2 upholstered chairs, coved ceilings, a decorative fireplace (decorative only, no fires), original hardwood floors, and a large picture window with views of the San Gabriel mountains.
• DINING ROOM: A light-filled space featuring a round glass dining table with comfortable seating for 6, original hardwood floors, and coved ceiling.
• LAUNDRY: A full-sized washer & dryer is conveniently located just off the kitchen. Laundry soap is provided.
• PLEASE NOTE: Children are welcome but the home is not "childproofed" if you are traveling with a child/children that require childproofing (i.e. plug covers, cabinet locks, etc.) this home may not be suitable for your needs.
• ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Central Heat & A/C, Wi-Fi, original hardwood floors in the living, dining, and front bedroom area along with original coved ceilings and arched doorways add to the charm and character of this spacious home. Ample parking for 2 vehicles in the driveway along with street parking (no permits required and no restrictions on overnight street parking)

Staying in an 80-year-old home does come with some “quirks” (we call it character!). Such character includes limited electrical outlets (however, we provide plenty of power strips with USB ports for your charging needs), sensitive plumbing (please treat it gently!), and rustic, original wood floors that aren't perfect and creak at times (it’s just the house welcoming you!).

This is the second time we have booked to stay at this house because it is absolutely perfect for our family. The attention to detail that Angela and Curtis pay to this house is extraordinary. They have thought of everything! It's such a delight to stay in such a beautiful and well appointed short-term rental home. We will definitely be back for a third visit!

We once again greatly enjoyed our stay at this charming casita in a quiet Pasadena neighborhood of older, smaller homes. The owners lived next door but were never obtrusive (but readily available through the VRBO app) and the back patio was shielded by trees, so there is a sense of privacy. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio during the hot evenings, which was well-lit and comfortable. Green parrots flew over at dusk and dawn, but mostly we spotted dog walkers passing by. The house is only a 10-15 minutes drive away from Pasadena landmarks, such as downtown, the Convention Center, and the Norton-Simon Museum. The cottage is very stylish and unique, both in style and decor. The house was very comfortable and extremely clean but could have used some niceties like luggage racks, softer facial and toilet tissues, and higher showerheads in the bathrooms. The air/heat, WiFi, and smart TV worked fine. We really appreciated the labeled light switches and drawers, night lights, and the great lighting throughout the home. We didn't find any maintenance issues, which is extremely rare for regular VRBO travelers like us - so kudos to the owners. The laundry center was very appreciated, as we didn't have to pack as much on our trip. Overall, we had a fun and relaxing time and recommend Casa de los Gatos in Pasadena to all.

Unless you stay here. This is the best rental we have ever stayed in. We have rented in Europe, across the US from the East Coast to Pasadena. The owners of this home have done an EXCELLENT job making a home away from home where people can be comfortable. We are chemical sensitive and we had no issues- they cleaned with scent free and we could use all the soaps they provided. There was not one thing we looked for that they hadn't provided. The thought and work that have gone into this house to make it a comfortable place to stay are exemplary. We needed an extra vase (beyond the one provided) and popped next door to the owners and they were happy to lend us one of theirs. They provided everything and we felt private and comfortable. I'm afraid to tell others about this home because it won't be available next time we want to come to Pasadena! Thank you so much for your love and care.

We were greeted by welcome basket from the owners, which was a sweet and unexpected surprise. The owners lived next door but were never obtrusive (but readily available through the VRBO app) and the back patio was shielded by trees, so there is a sense of privacy. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio in the evenings, which was well-lit and comfortable. We were visited once by a neighborhood cat and green parrots flew over at dusk and dawn, but mostly we spotted dog walkers passing by. The house is only a 10-15 minutes drive away from Pasadena landmarks, such as downtown, the Convention Center, and the Norton-Simon Museum. The cottage is very stylish and unique, both in style and decor. The house was very comfortable and extremely clean but could have used a more comfortable easy chair and footstool in the living room for TV watching and some niceties like luggage racks and higher showerheads in the bathrooms. The air/heat, WiFi, bath towels, and smart TV worked fine, although we missed getting the local channels. We really appreciated the labeled light switches and drawers, night lights, and the great lighting throughout the home. We didn't find any maintenance issues, which is extremely rare for regular VRBO travelers like us - so kudos to the owners. The laundry center was very appreciated, as we didn't have to pack as much on our trip. Overall, we had a fun and relaxing time and recommend Casa de los Gatos in Pasadena to all.
