About this villa rental
Villa Athena is located in Kato Gouves, inside a big olive grove and 10 minutes away from the beach. The villa consists of a two-floor traditional villa of 150 sqm and an independent stone apartment (which is rented separately), with a spacious outdoor area and a magnificent garden, full of colors, fragrances, and local flora. The combination of stone and wood, with the surrounding olive grove, creates a tranquil and comfortable environment The first floor of the villa consists of two bedrooms, each with two beds. On the ground floor, there is a very big living room, dining room, and kitchen, together with the bathroom and fireplace. On the next floor, the are two more bedrooms, each with two beds and with their own bathrooms. All rooms have a closet, drawers and an LCD TV. The kitchen has a coffee machine, dishwasher and all the necessary amenities of a modern kitchen The house has a laundry machine, a fireplace and of course wireless internet connection. The stone apartment has a double bed, its own bathroom, and kitchen. Furthermore, it has a fireplace and traditional furniture and decoration. The outdoors of the property is absolutely amazing. A well-preserved garden, with a barbecue facility and a traditional stone oven to prepare delicious meals. A lot of tables with colorful chairs and big sun umbrellas with sunbeds are there to help you relax under the Cretan sun. All this setting is surrounded by our family's century-old olive grove, that gives the property a traditional Cretan touch. After all, Cretan olive oil is considered to be the best extra virgin olive oil in the world. The area is open and spacious, perfect for a family with children, in order for the kids to play and be close to nature's environment. Finally, the view towards the sea, the olive grove and the hills around is relaxing, while a walk towards the sea is 10 minutes away. The parking space of the property can easily fit up to five cars.

It wasn’t quite new but very acceptable.
Rooms were big enough. Shower downstairs a little bit small.
Space around the villa was perfect.
Pity there was no pool.
We all enjoyed our stay in the villa.
Perfect assistance of the owner and the house keeper. Very friendly and easy towards clients.

Sehr schönes und gepflegtes Objekt. Kurzer Weg zum Strand, an dem wir zu dieser Jahreszeit praktisch alleine waren. Etwas Fluglärm (Einflugschneise), der aber nicht sehr laut und deshalb auch nicht störend ist. Ansonsten sehr ruhige Lage. Besonders gut: Sehr viele Sitz- und Liegemöglichkeiten rund ums Haus, immer wahlweise Sonne oder Schatten. Ausstattung der Küche könnte etwas besser sein (Besteck, Weingläser).

The place is beautiful and peaceful. I came with a group and the stay was comfortable there was enough space for everyone and the host did everything in his power to accommodate us. I asked a lot of questions before booking and I appreciated the patience he had with me. Overall my experience was fantastic and I would not mind staying here again. Thank you for allowing us to stay here.
