About this house rental
Luxury awaits you at this brand new custom home in the heart of wine country. This home is extremely custom and was featured on the cover of Home Design Central Coast. The open floor plan is exceptional for entertaining with a large great room which features beams from the mid 1800s as well as a large kitchen and bar area. There are speakers hidden in the walls throughout the house which are controlled by a home automation system so music may be controlled individually in each room. The house features exceptional landscaping complete with full grown olive trees and custom rock walls throughout and we are currently constructing a negative edge pool which will be completed prior to renting. There are five bedrooms as well as a loft that can sleep one extra guest, the loft is a common area that shares the space with one queen bedroom.
When you step into Casa De Madera Vieja, you’ll be blown away by the large living room beams, custom masonry and other craftsman finishes. It is old-world charm at its best with all of luxury conveniences you would expect. The house has fabulous features such as 7 flatscreen TV's, 3 fireplaces, a beautiful copper kitchen farm-sink, commercial Thermador appliances with a under cabinet microwave, breakfast nook, large refrigerator and a coffeemaker. Enjoy a siesta in your Sleep Number cal-king-size master bedroom and be cozy sitting in front of the fireplace which works off of the home automation system. Step into the private bathroom, with a double vanity, spa-like two person jet tub and huge walk in shower with dual shower heads, dual hand held shower wands and an integrated rain head. The bathrooms are all stocked with plush towels and toiletries. Additional amenities include all linens, towels, WiFi access, cable TV and speakers in every room for music.

Everything was perfect! My wife and three teens (14, 17, 19) plus three other family members were in town for a wedding. House and all of the amenities were amazing. Very clean and comfortable with a ton of space to hang out and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

The property itself is beautiful, clean, spacious, and well maintained. Communication with the owner leading up to our stay was excellent. However, we encountered a couple of issues during our visit that impacted our experience.First, while we were swimming, the pool cleaners arrived unexpectedly and asked everyone to get out so they could clean and rebalance the chemicals. This was surprising and disruptive, especially with young children in the pool.Second, while preparing a meal, the stove suddenly stopped working. I followed the instructions provided and texted the owner, but after receiving no response for over an hour, I called Tami directly. She was able to help us troubleshoot the issue and get the stove working again.During the call, I also mentioned the unexpected pool cleaning visit. Tami said the cleaners were not scheduled and instructed us to tell them to stop and leave. This put us in an uncomfortable position—we didn’t feel it was our place to confront service personnel.I also expressed concern about letting our young children back into the pool immediately after chemicals had just been added. She went on to say that they build pools for a living and she guarantees this is safe after 20mins to get back in. At that point, I overheard Tami speaking to someone in the background, saying, “I told you these people were going to be a problem.” While I chose not to confront her on the call, this comment was extremely upsetting. We rented this home to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary with our 6 adult kids and 4 grandchildren. It was the perfect setting for all 11 of us. We’d originally planned to celebrate in Italy but weren’t able to do so for obvious reasons. This home gave us that Italian feeling (or Spanish) and was nothing short of amazing. It had everything we needed and then some. There was plenty of room for everyone. The pool and grounds are wonderful with plenty of outdoor space to enjoy. We felt like we needed to stay a week to fully appreciate everything the home had to offer. Communication with the host was great. If you can find an open spot on their calendar, grab it! You’ll be happy you did.
