About this farm stay rental
The stone cottage „Bettina“ is the ideal choice for your next holidays in Tuscany.
This cottage used to be once an antique olive mill, which the owner restored with great care. He put very much attention to the materials used; small details were taken in consideration, all to relive the original atmosphere. There are two rooms in the tavern, where guests may discover the antique mill with which the olives were pressed and all its original tools.
Who loves the country life will very much appreciate this magic and peaceful spot – have your breakfast or dinner on the magnificent veranda (24 sqm) or just relax at the nice swimming pool (almost set in earth – 6.40 x 4m, depth: 1.30m). Bettina is an independent house which disposes of a 1000 sqm sized garden, partially fenced with hedge, equipped with table, chairs, deckchairs, barbeque and sun-umbrella.
Parking within the grounds.
Please pay attention that there are few meters of the access road to the property where there is a part which is narrow ( in the most narrow part of the street it is 2,10 meters wide) is and not convenient for large cars.
The house can be rented in 2 different versions:
- max number of persons version: 8+2 persons, i.e. the whole house with total 4 bedrooms is at the guests' disposal.
- max number of persons version: 6+2 persons, i.e. there are 3 bedrooms at the guests' disposal, this means that the 4th bedroom, on the lower floor, next to the oil press is NOT at the guests' disposal.
The rental price changes due to the number of persons, i.e. two weekly rental prices exist: for max 8+2 persons and for max 6+2 persons.
Bettina lies on a wonderful panoramic spot, on a hill, only 5 km from the historical centre of Lucca!
The famous art cities of Tuscany such as Pisa, Florence and Pisa are within an easy reach; exiting day trips! Within short time you may get by car to the coast of the Versilia with its beautiful sandy white beaches.

Access within 3 steps: ground floor, living room with big couch, fire-place, SAT-TV, dining room with dining table, 2 upholstered chairs, kitchen-cum-dining with stove, oven, fridge/freezer, dish-washer, 1 bathroom with wc, bidet, basin. On the 1st floor: 1 spacious double bedroom with 1 double bed settee and 1 bathroom with wc, bidet, tub/shower, 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, 1 bathroom with shower, wc, bidet. There is a utility room with washing machine, basin in the tavern, 1 toilet with wc, 2 rooms with original mill and tools, 1 double bedroom, from here access to a beautiful covered veranda, equipped with a table and chairs. The house disposes of mosquito bars on the windows, baby bed and highchair , air conditioning in the bedrooms on the first floor.
The mansion is tastefully furnished, in modern style, with some antique pieces of furniture, beamed ceilings and parquet tiled floors in the bedrooms.Unlimited WI-FI Included.

Excellent location. Well organised for swimming and sunbathing, but also for enjoying the shade. Outdoor area where we “stayed”. Sheltered from the sun during the day and a nice dining area in the evening. The access route is a bit steep and narrow, but also fascinating. You don't need a big car to get there. Suitable for 6 people. Room 4 was in the basement, which had been nicely renovated. The kitchen had everything you needed. The bathrooms looked completely renovated. It's nice to have donkeys nearby to whom we can give fruit and vegetables.

Das Haus ist wunderschön, der Garten ist riesig, der Eigentümer nett und der Blick auf die Ebene von Lucca ist fantastisch.
ACHTUNG: die Agentur abitare regelt das mit dem Mietvertrag separat, den sollte man genau durchlesen, da dieser bei uns nicht den Optionen entsprach, wie unter fewo angeboten (deutlich schlechtere Stornogebühren, mit Nachfassen ging es). Die Überraschung kam am Ende des Urlaubs mit der Stromabrechnung. Eigentlich ist der Strom inklusive, aber der Eigentümer hat neu eine Klimaanlage im 1.OG installiert und die Agentur frägt an, ob man die nutzen will: "in case you want to use it, the electricity will be have to be paid on consumption"
Meine Nachfrage/Bestätigung: "Yes, we would like to use the new installed air conditioning and pay IT by consumption. I assume that there is a counter for IT."
Antwort Agentur: "Yes there is a counter for the electricity, the owner will do the initial and final readings and the cost will be 0.65 € per kWh."
Scheinbar haben wir da aneinander vorbei geredet.
Die Agentur versteht da den gesamten Strom darunter, nicht nur den für die Klimaanlage. Mein explizites "it" schien wohl nicht aufgefallen sein oder mein Englisch zu schlecht, dass ich nicht verstanden habe, dass "electricity" immer den Gesamtstrom meint. Ich lass das mal wertfrei so stehen. Haben den Strom bezahlt. Hatte für uns leider den bitteren Beigeschmack, dass wir die Anlage eigentlich nicht genutzt hatte, da an Pfingsten Abends das Lüften völlig ausreichte (ist ja am Berg), dafür in Summe 65€ zus. bezahlen durften (etwas über 100KWh mit 7 Personen in einer Woche). Normalstrom wäre sonst im Vertrag drin waren. Leider gibt es nur ein ganz oder gar nicht, da es keinen separaten Zähler für die Klimaanlage gibt (die Stromzählerbilder bei Übergabe waren übrigens drei, was aber nichts mit der Anzahl der Klimageräte zu tun hat (auch drei) sondern in Italien wohl generell so ist, uns dadurch aber in Sicherheit wiegte). Es gab auch kein Entgegenkommen im Sinne von typische/durchschnittliche Verbrauchswerte in einer Woche vom Normalstrom, um diese abzuziehen. Die Agentur zeigte keinerlei Kompromissbereitschaft.
Schade fand ich, dass hier der Eigentümer selbst auch keine Kompromissfindung unterstützt hat (seine installierte Alarmanlage ging 4 mal los, auch nachts, ohne unser Verschulden (Techniker musste kommen) und wir haben keine Minderung gefordert. Daher gesamt nur 4 von 5. Urlaub war toll, würde jederzeit wieder hin, dann ohne Klimaanlage.
