Beautiful, Large Cottage, village location in The heart of the Derbyshire Dales

The house was perfect, lots of space and well furnished. Plenty of space for a party of ten people. The view was lovely. We had lunch at The Tavern which is a short walk from the property, food was lovely. We also enjoyed a trip to the nearby waterfall and Chstsworth House.The only negatives were the master bedroom’s mattress was very uncomfortable; and non of the toilet seats fitted. The neighbours dogs provided an early morning howling wake up call from 6am! There is no double glazing in the master bedroom so they were very loud!

This was our group’s 2nd visit. It is a lovely cottage in a great location and met all our requirements. Unfortunately I was unable to join my friends this year due to a very sudden bereavement of a close relative which happened after the cut off date for cancelling the booking and a request to postpone the booking was declined. My friends had an enjoyable stay however last year, one friend inadvertently left an expensive frying pan. The host was contacted the day we left and my friend offered to pay the postage to return it but apparently it was not found at the property. Following the recent stay, another friend inadvertently left 2 jackets in the downstairs cupboard. She phoned the host on the day they left to let her know and advised she was happy to pay the postage to return them. My friend received the jackets 11 days later which was great news! Thank you!

Absolutely fab cottage. Beautiful views. Great location for visiting the area. Extremely well equipped. Had everything we needed. Very nice welcome pack.

Good communication before we arrived at this excellent property. The house was very clean and the facilities were good for our large group. The location is superb, very well situated for all the places we wanted to visit in the Derbyshire dales. An excellent stay, thank-you.
