Unfortunately the apt doesn't function as well as it looks. We could only get one outlet in the kitchen to work. The sink is tiny and shallow so water splashes everywhere. The silverware drawer is on the outside of the kitchen. The bedroom upstairs has angled walls and a beam preventing you from entering the bed from either side. So you have to crawl up the mattress from the bottom. There is no space to dress or undress in this tiny bedroom. The only closet is in the entry so that is where we had to dress and undress. Corrine (owner) made us feel like we were entering a museum and we were not up to her standards. She spoke a little english but mostly rude comments like, "This is the dining room table where you will eat-don't remove the table cloth or you'll scratch my table". Then pointing at the sofa with a blanket covering it ..."this is to stay here to protect the sofa". We are not slobs. We know a dining table is where to eat. We aren't wild animals so we wouldn't damage her sofa by sitting on it. Then to top it all off she insisted on collecting 30E for a linen fee. Even after I texted her previously that her VRBO listing states linens were included. So for 30E we were able to use two scratchy bath towels, one hand towel and two bedsheets. No wash cloths and an old used sponge in the kitchen sink. The location was fine, a bit loud with traffic and city noise, not right in the old town but on the edge of it.

Corrine’s place was situated right between the train station and Vieux Annecy. She quickly responded to my messages. The place was comfortable and the decor made it a lovely home away from home. Merci, Corrine!

Guests should read the ENTIRE contract before renting this property. There are extra charges for sheets; extra charges if you do not clean THOROUGHLY before the host inspects the apartment at the end of your stay. Renters are responsible for trash, glass recycling out of the building, bathroom and shower cleaning, and trash disposal in the building's refuse area. No cleaning or linens are included in the rental. We got up early on our departure day to pack, clean the sinks, toilet and shower, and empty the recycling and trash, but did not understand the details of the contract in that we had to clean all floors and rugs in order to receive our security deposit back. We were subjected to a very stern reprimand in French in order to receive our deposit refund; we didn't understand all of what was directed at us but we well understood that we should have read the fine print more carefully. Other than that, this is a good location for a visit to Annecy, close to the train and bus stations, old town and markets. Street noise is 24/7 if the window is open.
