Orto al Mare Room Rental

We absolutely loved our stay at Orto al Mare. The location is truly incredible — the moment you open the windows, you’re greeted with breathtaking views of the sea and the beautiful village of Riomaggiore. Hearing the breeze and the calming sound of the waves made the experience even more relaxing and memorable. One of the best parts of staying here was watching the sunset. The view from the room is amazing, and unlike the crowded public viewing spots, we were able to enjoy the sunset peacefully without having to compete for space on the stairs with other tourists. Valentina was also wonderful throughout our stay. She was very friendly, responsive, and excellent with communication. She provided very clear instructions on how to get into the room and even sent pictures to make everything easier for us. At one point, we thought our air conditioner was not working properly, and she responded immediately and helped us troubleshoot the issue right away. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. We also really appreciated that the refreshments inside the fridge were complimentary — such a thoughtful touch that made our stay even better. Overall, staying here made our time in Riomaggiore even more special, and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cinque Terre.

The only downside was the bed, which felt quite firm and uncomfortable for us, and unfortunately led to some back pain. We hope this is something that can be improved in the future, as it would make an already beautiful stay even more comfortable.

The host was gracious and helpful. The room had spectacular view of the sea.

Good location and views , you really cannot be any closer to the sea, you would fall into...

I am Italian, and with family in Liguria (Genova), so Cinqueterre for me isn't a "new touristic destination". It was for my wife, and that's the reason to stayed there for one night. That been said, I am VERY aware of how complicated street numerations can be in Italy (specially in places like this), the instructions to finding the place could be more reference related: like for example find "this" restaurant and walk right/left 50 mtrs. With a point of reference everything is easier, particularly with overpopulated touristic places like this. Photos are good, instruction were good. I would just add that detail. Unrelated to the place/owner, a very obnoxious drunk American woman tourist was yelling/laughing until 130 am at the pub across the boat launch, completely unaware and careless about anybody else...., and made sleeping almost impossible. If you experience that, yell back and shut them up !!!! or call Carabinieri.

It is not the fault of the room provider and we should have been More aware that this destination is not for anyone over 50 yrs old or who has any mobility issues or has a suitcase weighing more than 5 kgs. There are hundreds of huge steps, thousands of people, partying til the early hours right outside the room…

It would have been nice to at least meet the room provider. All very anonymous. If you stay here one night is Plenty.
