About this apartment rental
A stunning and spacious apartment on the second floor of a historic building. Recently renovated, with original wooden beams and terracotta floor throughout.
The sitting room and kitchen-dining room have French windows which open onto the large terrace and a separate balcony. These face south and overlook private gardens. They are furnished with a table and chairs for al fresco dining, with wall lights for the evenings.
The large sitting room has two sofas and a 40 inch wall-mounted 3D TV with international satellite channels, a DVD player and an i-pod docking station. There is wi-fi internet access throughout the apartment.
The large and elegant kitchen-dining room has as its centrepiece a stunning range, including chimney and original stone sink. It is equipped with dishwasher, electric oven, gas hob, drinks fridge and separate fridge-freezer, washer-dryer, microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetière and cooking utensils.
The two bedrooms each have double (king size) beds and there is a double sofa bed in the sitting room. There is also a single foldout mattress.
The bathroom has both bath and shower and an illuminated mirror, wall-mounted towel rail and wall-mounted and under-basin cupboards.
The apartment is equipped with fans, including ceiling fans, and all windows are fitted with mosquito nets (very important in the height of summer in Lucca!).
The apartment is centrally located within the ancient walls in a quiet street next to a coffee bar (very handy for breakfast pastries and coffee!). It is just two minutes from all the amenities of Lucca, including restaurants, the main shopping street of Via Fillungo and piazzas, with the best gelateria in town on nearby Piazza San Salvatore! It is also just five minutes walk from the bus station, 10 minutes walk from the train station and five minutes walk from the tourist information office where you can rent bikes. Cycling on the walls is a must and the best way to see the city!
Please note that traffic is restricted within the city walls and if you drive there you will incur a fine. However there are public car parks 10 minutes walk from the apartment just by the city walls.
Bedding, towels and beach towels are provided. There are also a travel cot and child's car seat in the apartment.
A deposit of 300 euros will be taken by the property manager on arrival to cover breakages and damage.
Please note that guests are required when checking out to pay for gas and electricity consumed during their stay. Please be aware that energy is relatively expensive in Italy.

The property manager, Tanya, was very helpful and easy to communicate with. The apartment was very well-equipped and furnished for a multi-week stay. It had comfortable beds and couches, a private outdoor terrace in the courtyard, and was stocked with kitchen and cleaning supplies and extra bedding and linens.The wifi, heating, and water systems all worked well. The apartment is on a quiet street very close to the town center and a city gate. We highly recommend this apartment!

The apartment lived up to must of my expectations, however the apartment below ( you could not avoid passing in order to get to your apartment) was as if s bomb was set off in it and the doors to it were always ajar and would not stay closed. There was a fertile cat living in there and it was using it for its toilet and the smell was unbearable! The table on the patio was so old and rickety that you had to be careful as to where you placed your glass for it would tip over. Other then that the beds were very comfy and the apartment met all my expectations..had it not been for these 2 very disturbing issues I would have rated it at least a 4 star!
