I had a great stay at Tilos Mare Hotel. As a young solo female traveller it was a great spot to relax for 6 days. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and safe. I also loved being able to lay by the pool as I had a sore ankle so it wasn't always easy for me to tackle the pebble beaches.

The location is great, walking distance from the Bus stop, from the port, and all good restaurants of the area. The staff is kind enough to pick you up from the port and bring you to the port upon your leave. The staff is quite limited, but very friendly and accommodating with any needs one might have. Our rooms were facing the pool, which was a beautiful sight to see upon leaving the room every day and was a nice place to stay if one wants to chill at the hotel for the afternoon.
The rooms were clean and had good curtains that blocked the light for those of us that like to sleep in more darker rooms. For a one-month prior booking in the highest season in August- this was a very good budget friendly hotel.
The rooms are on the older side, but still in good condition. My partner had an issue with the main door not being well screwed and at nights with the wind it would bang keeping him awake.
This is a note to the owners- it is a shame that one or two people are being overworked at the hotel. Although they did an excellent job with all our needs, it is evident that the hotel is understaffed. It is a miracle that the hotel is able to run in such a smooth way.

Location was very good with an easy walk to restaurants and shops. Olivia was very friendly and made time to speak with us and pickup/drop off to port was appreciated. Bathroom is very nicely renovated. Hotel is very clean in the foyer area.
Room 203 - The cutlery in the kitchenette was dirty, only one knife, no tea towel, dirty wine glasses and one was cracked. There is no electrical outlet near the kitchenette to plug the coffee/tea maker so we had to search for one. The air-condition in this room is not very good and may actually be faulty as water started to drip down the wall inside and then ice was ejected - we had it on a reasonable and comfortable setting. The cups in the bathroom were dirty (we do not use them ever but fair to mention). The mattresses were single and did not fit the bed base properly and the sheets were not the right size. No spare pillows. We did go to use the pool on one occasion but some really noisy kids arrived and starting bombing and jumping so that was the end of that idea. We could hear a lot of noise on all three days from the pool area and loud talking and kids making lots of noise in the rooms next to us very late into the night. This hotel is very NOISY due to inconsiderate guests and their children. When leaving we were asked to give a review with a score of 10 because an 8 or 9 just is not good enough. Our experience does not warrant a score of 10 and I do not think it is appropriate to approach guests upon departure for a great review. It is a desperation tactic in my opinion and I do not believe that the other 10 scores are genuine.
