About this villa rental

Built in 1871 on a quiet picturesque street of the village and just 150 meters from the main square, the “Villa Rouga” is an authentic Cretan tranditional stone build villa fully renovated, which consists of an 80sqm main building with stone arches and authentic wooden ceilings.
The rooms are on the 1st floor open to the main area of the house, a traditional architecture used back then in Crete but we have taken this into account and we have installed black out curtains in each room which increases the privacy and meet the today life standards.
The main building of the villa has a ground floor with:
Wooden dining set and traditional wicker chairs.
Wooden sofa bed with pillows lined with Cretan weavings made on the loom.
Fully equipped kitchen.
Stone fireplace with built-in benches (seats).
Traditional stone oven.
Bathroom with shower.
Bathroom with bathtub
The three wooden handmade staircases lead to the three autonomous lofts, which are the bedrooms of “Villa Rouga”, with traditional Cretan décor and wooden floors.
The lofts:
One loft with 2 single beds.
One loft with 1 double bed
One loft with 1 single bed
Traditional family heirlooms and accessories have been placed inside the villa with care, providing the authenticity, the history and the culture of Crete.
The wooden ceiling, in combination with the stone walls of the Villa and the traditional roof, provide a pleasant cool atmosphere during the summer and pleasant warmth during the winter period.
The guests of “Villa Rouga” can enjoy the wonderful fragrant garden with colorful flowers and the wonderful views.
The enclosed traditional courtyard with its unique garden and planted organic products ensures absolute privacy and security of visitors.
The old grape press and distilling boiler, constitute the comparative advantage of “Villa Rouga” as these were used for the production of wine and tsikoudia, from grapes of the family Andrianaki vineyards.
It is a unique experience for those who visit “Villa Rouga” in the harvest period and participate in the wine and tsikoudia process respectively.
Villa’s courtyard natural setting is decorated with a 21sq meter private swimming pool and a barbeque area where guests can have moments of relaxation, enjoyment and can taste delicious dishes and tasteful delicacies while enjoying the wonderful rich shade under the great mulberry tree.

The property was lovely and had everything we needed for a great holiday, Argyro and her Family made us feel very much at home straight away. We will definitely go back again someday and I would recommend the Villa and Hospitality to my friends and anyone else who is interested in visiting Crete for a lovely Family Holiday.

Accueil très chaleureux d'Argyro et de ses parents qui nous ont comblé de petites attentions : raki , cake , gâteaux crétois ...
Nous avons passé une douzaine de jours dans la villa Rouga où rien ne manque (sauf peut-être un four micro ondes) et surtout autour de la très agréable piscine .
Endroit très calme dans un petit village authentique où nous avons pu nous restaurer à la taverne à des prix intéressants . Nous avons même pu profiter des tomates et poivrons du potager ainsi que du raisin de la treille . La villa est sur un terrain entièrement clos et sans voisins directs .
Beaucoup de jolies petites stations balnéaires à proximité telles que Georgioupoli , Kalives et Almyrida .
Une villa à recommander aux personnes qui aiment le calme , l'intimité et la campagne

Nous avons passé une bien belle semaine dans cette maison simple mais authentique, au calme dans un village tranquille et purement crétois. La maison est bien aménagée, avec 3 chambres en mezzanine, 2 salles de bain, tout le comfort nécessaire et une grande propreté.
L''extérieur est calme, même si on est dans un village, la piscine agréable et la petite table à l'ombre d'un grand arbre appréciable pour y prendre les repas. Bref un séjour de qualité, une belle adresse, et des propriétaires qui nous ont accueilli avec gentillesse et quelques délicatesses ! Merci !

This is the loveliest place we have ever stayed.
The house is wonderful - cool, comfortable, with everything we needed. The decor is authentic and beautiful, it was lovely to sit and take it in. The situation in the village itself was perfect, and the villa and garden were completely peaceful and private while still having the great feeling of living within the village. The people were friendly, and we could walk everywhere, including to the taverna, which had delicious fresh food and wine all day, very reasonably priced, and was an ideal place to spend the evening.
The pool is great, you can swim or lie in the sun while looking out at breathtaking views of the mountains, or watch the butterflies flitting round the bountiful vegetable garden. Sun all day long, with plenty of shady areas if you want a peaceful place to read a book.
We didn't want to do any visiting, and spent most of our time at the villa, but it's easy to get a taxi to the supermarket, airport etc if you're not driving.
The Adrianaki family are amazing, kind, welcoming and hospitable. They provided everything we needed and more, I cannot speak highly enough of them. I have already recommended Villa Rouga to my friends and family, and will be visiting again.
