Maripaul Family Villa

lovely villa in a great location near shops and restaurants, close to a beach (a bit stony). Comfy beds and pillows, all with pillow and mattress protectors making you feel hygiene was a priority, fly screen protectors on all windows and doors so windows and doors could be left open with no risks of bugs entering, night lights available in bedrooms which was a lovely touch. Aircon was excellent, we didn’t use it much but when we did need it, it was great. Pool man came every 3rd day and cleaned pool. pool and outside area lit up at night up to 1.30am. constant hot water for showers and great pressure in the shower. lovely patio and garden area outside kitchen . House was clean and rep was there to meet us on arrival and show us around. well stocked with glasses, plates etc in fact never seen so much plates etc in a villa. mugs were not as well stocked and as tea drinkers were constantly washing them. 😀everything else went in dishwasher. we were there for 14 nights and a clean and linen/towel change was provided half way through holiday which was appreciated.

These are just small things and giving feedback as potential for improvement and other information for prospective clients but would not stop me booking this villa again if I went to Rhodes as I really enjoyed my stay and it is a great place to stay. No shower curtain for shower in bathroom impossible to shower without getting the floor wet so all 7 of us had to use shower room off kitchen. (Both the bathroom and shower room would benefit from an upgrade but are absolutely fine) No mirrors in bedrooms upstairs or bins. ladies struggled drying hair etc. A second clothes airer would be great as with 7 people trying to dry pool towels and any washing there was not enough room. Clothes pegs for windy days would be great to keep the clothes on the airers as we frequently found the clothes on the ground. Mobility/Accessibility; As an FYI, steps up to pool area from patio are uneven and steep and a person with any mobility issues such as hips and knees may struggle on these steps. My husband (73) had a couple of trips on these steps . Access to front door is up a small flight of steps but these were easier to manage The pool was perfect for cooling off but again a person with mobility issues might struggle getting in and out. Pool is all one dept of 1.4m so young kids would need floating aids. I still highly recommend this villa for a great comfortable holiday .

There was no little book of information of local amenities or places of interest! We would've liked a little book full of useful information e.g the bus service and timetable. Local beaches, eateries! That would've been helpful. Also had to ask for the basket ball and volleyball and darts to be replaced as were malfunctioning so think this should've been checked prior to our arrival.

This villa was the second villa we stayed in during our trip to Grece. To be honest, it was the only one that we felt a bit disappointed. The house is appr 50 minutes drive from the airport in Lardos (very close to Pefko and Lindos). For us this was perfect, it is very relaxing, with a beach very nearby. The beach also offers the rent of boats, jetskis etc,. There are several minimarkets within 5 min walks. The villa consists of 2 floor. The upper floor has 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. It also has a balcony. This balcony, unlike showed on the photos on booking.com does not have any furniture so this is a useless balcony (no view). The bathroom is really outdated, my kids LOVE to go in baths. Not only did they not show any interest, they said it was "nasty". It was an old bath with cracks, yellowish, full of limescales. The beds were fine. The AC was spot on, every room had an unit. Downstairs there was a kitchen (and a washing machine next to it), 1 more room with a bed, a living room and a second bathroom with a shower. To start with the kitchen, the fridge smelled like there was a fish lying in there for about a week. They put an used sponge for cleaning dishes (very nasty). The wifi router was downstairs, the signal on the 1ste floor was close to not functioning. We used the house literally only for sleeping. If you want to go to Rhodos to party and go to Rhodos-town, this is not for you. A lot of spots like the butterfly park, Farma petting zoo, airport, Rhodos Town, 7 springs are al a minimum 45-60 min drive away.

Garbage bags have to be thrown out in a bin on the main road. The swimming pool area, just like the entire interior of the villa clearly needs an update/facelift. But it is a big house with plenty of sleeping area, so the price per couple/family will be really fair. The pool isn't really inviting, we would rather go to the surrounding beaches (St Paul, Pefkos, Lothiarika beach are all so close it would be a shame to spend this time around this mediocre pool). This villa is full of potential. However it is outdated (too bad we forgot to take pictures of inside). The pictures you see on booking.com are not realistic anymore. A small investment and this villa will earn a 9/10 for larger groups seeking a relaxing villa. But for now, I can't think a score higher than 7 is fair.
