    Managers need to go under better training to treat customers better. There is a new front desk lady and she had to get a manager involved. The manager didn’t want to help us with getting an upgrade because we booked through a third-party. Even though we are platinum elite members through IHG. That is what he told us, they don’t not do that at this hotel because it’s third-party and maybe other hotels that are Holiday Inn express might, but they do not make a habit of it. That is what he said. Reluctantly, he gave us a so-called upgrade. However, it ended up being on the ground floor and handicap room. The window blinds didn’t work and the floor mat towel was dirty. Really it was a backhanded slap in the face. I asked for a room on a high floor on the quiet side of the hotel, and he would not do any of that. I assumed he would do it and he did not do any of that. Rather than argue with him, we reluctantly accepted it and chose to leave an appropriate review regarding this. Management is a problem and need to send them through training again to help them treat IHG members better, let alone just normal average customers. This all started because we booked a queen room for the first night and then a king room for a second night a few days later as we had changed plans. Will we stay over one night we normally book a king room. I figured it’s not a problem for them to do an upgrade as a hotel was not busy and that is what the new front desk lady told us. Management just needs to take care of customers.!
