About this cottage rental
Don''t be fooled by the modest facade - inside, this mid-terraced property has a fine sense of style and a multi-faceted approach to family life. Step through the front door and the ground floor features a living room, dining room and kitchen, all with underfloor heating. In the first, a luxurious corner sofa, leather armchairs and a large TV are arranged around a beautiful tiled fireplace, while double doors open out onto the well-kept garden. The dining room seats eight around an on-trend table before a cast iron wood burner. A large hatch connects to the adjacent kitchen, which is contemporary in style and equipped to make light work of every mealtime. Upstairs, the first floor has three dreamy bedrooms - one with a super-king-size platform bed, the second with a wooden rolled-top king-size bed and the third bedroom, perfect for younger guests, with bunk beds. The family bathroom on this floor features a large free-standing bath and a walk-in shower. Ascend a narrow staircase to the second floor and you''ll find the master king-size bedroom and en-suite bathroom. Across the hallway, a snug with floor cushions and a TV will prove the perfect retreat for the youngsters in your party. To the rear of the house, the garden has seasonal planting and a large set of outdoor furniture - ideal for al fresco food and refreshments.
Located in the North York Moors National Park, pretty Egton sits within the Esk Valley with the river meeting the sea at Whitby, 7 miles away. Take the strain out of your visit by hopping on the train - the mainline station at Egton Bridge is just a mile from your doorstep and will have you at the coast in less than half an hour. Explore the Moors'' most stunning scenery on foot with a 4-mile circular walk from the station to Grosmont, or visit Goathland, familiar from TV''s ‘Heartbeat'' series - both villages have stations on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway line. For a flavour of life on the Heritage Coast, Sandsend is 7 miles from your doorstep - a gorgeous little seaside village with a long stretch of beach. Alternatively, a 12-mile drive away the old fishing village of Robin Hood''s Bay has a fine choice of eateries, fashionable shops and quaint cottages spilling down from the cliff-top to a sandy foreshore.
