About this cottage rental

Situated in the beautiful Harwood Dale, Woodpeckers Cottage is a spacious property with an attractive garden to the front and side, where you can sit and admire the most amazing views of the dale and surrounding hills. This charming cottage, set on one level on the ground floor, has a spacious living and dining room, a separate kitchen, three good-sized bedrooms and a family bathroom. The house is very comfortable, offers all modern comforts and private off road parking.


The property is situated at the heart of the Harwood Dale and there are some lovely walks and cycling routes right on your doorstep. The cottage is ideal for families, walkers, cyclists, bird watchers and nature lovers and at the neighbouring farm you can buy fresh local vegetables, eggs and jams.


On warm days, head outside to the wonderful garden at the front and side of the cottage where you can sit in the summer housewith a glass of something chilled and take in those views.


There is a lovely Summer house from which you can enjoy some fantastic sun sets


Staying in Woodpeckers Cottage, you will be spoilt for choice of things to do on your break, as the area boasts some of the most beautiful places to visit. The picturesque Forge Valley with the pretty village of Hackness offers some popular tearooms and stunning views; the famous Dalby Forest where you can Go Ape or simply enjoy a family picnic or a walk in the wood; Falling Foss boasts some charming walks; as well as the popular seaside resorts of Scarborough, Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay all nearby.

Entrance: Two steps up into a small porch.

Hallway: A lovely large hallway with woodpecker themed wall paper, some hanging space.

Lounge/Dining Room: A three-seater sofa, three armchairs, TV with Freesat, feature fire.

Kitchen: An electric ceramic hob, electric oven and grill, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave.

Bedroom 1: Has some amazing views over Harwood Dale, a double bed with two bedside cabinets and lights, there is a built-in wardrobe, a chest of drawers with a mirror, two chairs and a full length mirror.

Bedroom 2: There are two single beds, a built-in wardrobe, bedside cabinet and light, chest of drawers, armchair and a lovely view over the garden.

Bedroom 3: Has a single bed, a chest of drawers, built-in wardrobe, shelves and a lovely view over the garden.

Bathroom: Bath with shower over bath, storage, toilet and washbasin. Heated twoel rail. This bathroom is newly fitted 2024.


Pets: One dog welcome.

Parking: Private off street parking available outside the property. Please note the drive is shared with the owner who lives next door.

Garden: Garden to the front and side of the house with outside seating as well as a lovely Summerhouse with stunning views.

Heating: Gas central heating, open fire.

Short Breaks: Accepted in off peak periods

Notes: Towels are provided. Highchair available. No smoking at this property. Unlimited WiFi available free of charge. Mobile phone signal is variable.
