Return from your forays into the Brecon Beacons to soak up the sunshine on the deck or bubble in the hot tub when you stay at this luxury, cedar wood-clad retreat in Coelbren. Nestled on the fringes of the national park, 2.5 miles from Abercraf, the stylish, four-bedroom holiday home sleeps eight guests and offers dog-friendly accommodation. There is a pool table here for lively games nights in together.
Take a few steps up to enter the reception hall and wander on through to the splendid, light-filled, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Enjoy the extensive range of equipment here to make fresh coffee to enjoy at the breakfast bar or homecooked dishes for celebratory meals at the dining table. Watch the Smart TV or challenge each other to pool or games on the Xbox. Pull open the doors in here on to the sundeck on warm days. There is also a ground floor family shower room, with a step up to the shower, and a utility room at this level. A king bedroom, with en-suite shower room and a twin (which can be converted to a king), each with a TV and Amazon Fire Stick, are on the first floor, together with a family bedroom, arranged with a double bed and bunks and a Smart TV. There is also a very spacious family bathroom up here. While away summer days on the deck, lighting the gas BBQ, unwinding in the hot tub and gazing out across the surrounding fields and hills. There is parking for five cars at the property.
Pull on your walking boots and venture just 1 mile from the lodge to see the famous Henrhyd Falls, which have been used as a backdrop in movies including the Dark Knight Rises. Stroll through the scenic Nant Llech river valley while you are here. Enjoy a group trip to the National Showcaves Centre for Wales, 6 miles away, to see the 10.5-mile-long network of caves.
