Outbuilding with fridge (bait). Rear garden with sitting-out area, terrace and garden furniture. Coarse fishing on-site (licence required). Mooring. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is an unfenced river in the garden. The terrace edge is open and there is a 1 foot gap from the ground to the bottom trellis due to it being elevated as many properties are on the Broads - please bear this in mind if bringing small dogs or children.. Commanding a beautiful waterside setting alongside the River Yare, this detached lodge is perfectly situated, with the lawned garden leading directly to the water’s edge. Be sure to bring your fishing rods, since fishing (in season and with a licence) is available from the end of the garden. River View offers open-plan living accommodation with sliding, floor-to-ceiling window doors for those amazing river views leading to a newly decked terrace, the perfect spot for relaxing and watching the boats pass by. River View also boasts its quay-headed mooring. If you are bringing your boat, you will have use of our slipway access at our nearby marina - by prior arrangement.
The lodge is located in the riverside village of Brundall within the heart of the Norfolk Broads National Park. The village is the centre for boat building and boat hire (pre-booking recommended) and has its railway station, shop/post office, mini-market, hairdresser, takeaway, fish and chip shop, fine restaurant and local pubs all serving good food. One pub is just across the river, and another is within a short stroll. With the train station less than half a mile away you can visit Norwich (8 miles away) for shopping, theatre, restaurants, inns, cafés, castles museums and history, or Great Yarmouth for ice cream on the beach and seaside fun at the Pleasure Beach.
River View is in a great location to explore the stunning Norfolk Broads, Coast & Countryside.
For fun-filled family days out there is Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens with a renowned collection of Asian mammals including birds; you will also find reptiles in the pleasantly landscaped gardens. Also of interest are the neighbouring villages of Strumpshaw, with a steam museum and rally during May, and Strumpshaw Fen RSPB. Reedham offers Pettitts Animal Adventure Park and a riverside pub and BeWilderworld and Pleasurewood Hills are also close by.
