About this house rental
Ideal for families, walkers, cyclists, gastro enthusiasts or perhaps those just looking to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside, The Barn is a new hand-crafted home built by the architect owner who lives in The Old Farmhouse next door.
We also welcome well behaved dogs (we just request a modest fee of £20 per dog per stay)
The space
The Barn is a detached three bedroom home with two bedrooms at ground floor level and a third on the upper level.
The kitchen dining and living spaces flow into each other and overlook a private rear garden and patio area. The garden then leads onto a one acre paddock which guests are welcome to use if they like.
The property has a shower room at each of the two levels and also a fully equipped utility room complete with Miele washing machine and dryer.
All materials, fixtures and fittings are of a very high standard and the whole house was painstakingly built in 2021. The hot water and heating are powered by an air source heat pump installation and both lower and upper floors (stone on the ground and engineered oak plank on the upper) are heated by underfloor heating.
Guest access
There is plenty of car parking space on the driveway for a number of vehicles and there is also an Andersen electric car charging point. The fabulous Martins Arms pub and restaurant (resident chef and tenant, Laurence Henry, is a former Master Chef professionals winner!) is a short walk from The Barn and is well worth a visit, as is nearby Langar Hall and Belvoir Castle. The village is also home to Colston Bassett Dairy who produce the world famous Colston Bassett Stilton cheese and the shop is just a few minutes walk away from The Barn for those keen to sample its wares.
Other things to note
The Barn shares a driveway with The Old Farmhouse but apart from this, the two houses are fully independent and guests are able to enjoy their stay in private. Equally, if any help or advice is needed we are literally a stone's throw away!
