What I liked...was the flexibility applied eventually for the refundable deposit to pay a lower amount.
Check-in was scheduled for 3pm, however I was not provided with the key location due to a refundable deposit I had no idea that I had to make as it was not prominently displayed at the time of booking. I completed my payment for the apartment through Booking.com, yet there was no clear indication whatsoever of additional fees ( £250 refundable deposit) that would be required upon arrival. This crucial information should NOT be hidden within the terms and conditions. It should be displayed clearly and prominently for customers to be able to make an informed decision. As a result, I was left stranded outside the property for an hour, unable to gain access because I was out of pocket. I had to drag my suitcase to the meeting I came there to attend, unable to change into decent clothes due to no access to the property. It was embarrasing. Had the requirement for a £250 refundable arrival deposit been clearly stated at the point of online booking, I would have avoided the use of the property and this situation could have been avoided entirely.
