About this cottage rental
The Lark is an historic railroad building that has been transformed into a delightful two bedroom cottage. Hand forged nails and hardware along with the original doors and ceilings maintain the character of this 1920’s structure. Located just two blocks from the plaza, the Lark is in a quiet garden setting.
The Lark is located on a property that overlooks Ashland Creek; there is a large, public creek side deck that we urge our guests to use. The property is also home to Ashland Artworks, a collection of multiple art galleries.
There are other cottages (another 2-bedroom and a one bedroom) on this property if you are looking for more than one place. Just let us know!
Note: Abbott's Cottages is a small family business made up of 9 cottages, all within walking distance to downtown. We have been renting our cottages to tourists in Ashland for 25 years and we usually get 5 star reviews on our other booking platforms. We took a break from renting through VRBO but now we are back- just to explain when you see no reviews! We also have cottages at other locations and soon they will be listed here- in the meantime you can look up Abbott's Cottages to view them all :)

This is a near-perfect location if you're here for the OSF, as we were. It's comfortable, clean, and pleasant. Nice furnishings, good kitchen. I have absolutely nothing to criticize.

Visit Ashland annually for the past 14 years minus Covid year and have added this beautiful cottage onto my list of favorites...Owners very responsive and prompt to questions had prior to stay. Appreciated how the owner dropped by at check in to make sure that we checked in fine. Parking easy and could fit my oversized truck. 3 parking stalls available onsite, one for each of the cottages. Lots of street parking if needed. Well stocked kitchen. Having both a bathtub and shower was a plus. Cottage was very clean, tastefully decorated and located in a quiet residential area walking distance to the OSF, farmer's market, restaurants and all the other fun stuff Ashland has to offer. The location is ideal to just about anything in town as it's walking distance to all. Coop, hot yoga and gym across the street. Pet friendly cottage with plenty of interesting places to take our dogs. Stayed in the Lark cottage which had plenty of space for my me, my husband and dogs. Grassy area in front of the cottage was a plus but spent most of the time walking around the peaceful neighborhood. AC worked great!Would definitely recommend this spot for a reliable cottage close by and very quiet. Hands down our favorite so far. Thanks again to the owners as we had a lovely stay.
