We would stay here again - amazing location looking over the lock. We did have major central heating issues - Mandy was great and gave us heaters and more firewood but we still had no hot water for a couple of days. It was clear they were trying to fix the problem but I guess a new boiler is needed. Didn’t put us off though - we would still go back.

A great place to stay!! We loved being right alongside the locks on the Caledonian Canal. Fort Augustus is a great location as a base for exploring the Loch Ness area.
The cottage was comfy and warm. We travelled as a couple and the cottage sleeps 5. I think the kitchen facilities would be challenging for a family of 5. While adequate for 2 people the fridge, cooker and dishwasher are very small. Also the kitchen wasn’t as well equipped as others we have stayed in.
The WiFi worked well. The heating did not work on 2 mornings. We notified the caretaker and this was sorted by the afternoon. I have notified the property owners (European Waterways) who have assured me this problem has now been resolved.
We saw some amazing scenery and would definitely recommend this property.
