About this house rental
Going through the gates of the Villa Ricordi- Casa sotto la Torre is like going through a portal beyond which you are immersed in a world that smells of ancient times.
The large garden surrounding the villa is an ideal place to rediscover the harmony and simplicity of the past, perhaps reading a book in one of the 'secret' corners, or even just relaxing with birds singing.
Giacomo Puccini, precisely because of the beauty of these places and for his peace, had his Villa built here (where he still lives) and where he drew inspiration for his immortal melodies ...

Because this place is full of emotions, which open to your senses naturally, giving you harmony and an atmosphere that has no equal.
Casa Sotto la Torre - Villa Ricordi - is an ancient art nouveau villa of the early last century, cloaked in that mysterious and serene charm that only these houses are able to convey.
Casa Turandot, occupies the entire ground floor, and is very welcoming with its three double bedrooms, its high ceilings, the kitchen and the living room with the fireplace and direct access to the garden and to the private pergola which guarantees privacy and freedom, two bathrooms complete the house.
A Casa Butterfly, located on the entire first floor, is accessed through a suggestive external staircase. To welcome us, once you cross the threshold, a beautiful stained glass window leads us into the real house, which opens with a very bright eat-in kitchen, facing south. Two adjacent bathrooms serve 4 double bedrooms, one of which with a delightful balcony overlooking the garden and the tree-lined avenue leading to the nearby lake.
At 300 meters from the Villa, on the shores of the lake, there is the villa-museum of Giacomo Puccini, and near the Gran Teatro where every year, in the summer, the master's works are represented: among his most famous harmonies we remember Madama Butterfly, La Turandot, Tosca .... which attract thousands of fans and not about this magnificent theater on the shores of the lake.
A beautiful and fresh belvedere on the lake will give you moments of relaxation, where you will find well-kept flower beds, restaurants and ice cream parlors ...
The bus stop is right in front of the Villa.

The only issue was operating the clothes washing machine - it is either Italian, or temperamental, or actually in need of repair?
It may be helpful to have instructions for use in languages other than Italian.
Please note this is meant as a constructive suggestion.
The property, the location, and the gracious assistance of the host were all remarkable and we give it ten from ten.
We aim to return and will highly recommend the villa to friends

My wife and I rented the ground floor apartment for 3 weeks in June 2018 and had friends visit us on two occasions during our stay. The initial impression was that the villa/apartment was slightly old fashioned but this was charming as the villa dated from the 1890's and most of the interior decor from the 1930's. It was really comfortable with everything we needed, in a quiet location close to the lake. The garden was full of flowering plants such as jasmine - really great. We can only recommend the property 100% - Luca and Lisa the hosts were very friendly and helpful and gave us lots of tips and hints on things to do and places to visit locally. We are seriously considering a return trip next year ! Thank you Luca and Lisa - ciao !

Luca, the host, goes above and beyond in ensuring that your every needs are met. He is a host who immediately becomes a friend. The home is truly authentic and offers a sense of tranquility and peace. Only a mile from the train and the bus stop is quite close. Short walk to Puccini's home and lake. A perfect place to call home base while taking day trips by train throughout the Tuscany region. I highly recommend.

Five friends came together to celebrate a special birthday including going to the Puccini Festival. Staying at Casa Turandot made it perfect. Five minutes walk to the Lake and ten minutes to the town. Our host Luca was charming and very helpful. A beautiful place. Tranquil. Places to sit in the shade and in the sun
