Experience authentic rural living in this large stone farmhouse dating back to 1603, nestled in tranquil Pays-de-Loire, Normandy near the Manche/Mayenne border 🌾. Surrounded by peaceful arable farmland with no livestock nearby, it’s the perfect getaway for large groups, families, or friends seeking space and privacy.
The house sleeps 14–15 guests across 7 comfortable bedrooms: 3 doubles (one en-suite), a triple with bunk beds, and flexible smaller rooms that can be twins or a double. There are 5 bathrooms (plus 2 extra toilets), all with heated towel rails. Enjoy the cozy lounge with a log burner 🔥, 3 sofas, armchairs, and both English & French TV 📺.
Cook and entertain easily with 2 fully equipped kitchens—one with a bar setup—and a large dining room with a table for everyone 🍽️. Laundry facilities and ample parking are included.

We stayed at this property for our annual family holiday. There were 14 of us aged 4 to 74.
We wanted for nothing! The thoughful and kind hosts felt more like family than landlords, without ever invading our space.
The location was great and we look forward to a return visit .

We stayed at La Grand Metairie to celebrate a birthday and had a cracking time despite the changeable weather.
The property has plenty of space for a bigger party and lots of activities to keep even the teens away from screens.
Unlike a lot of properties, this one is very well equipped - you won’t run out of pots, pans and crockery! And even if you wish to cook the most obscure dishes, the equipment is there.
The hosts were very welcoming and helped whenever we had a query.
The location is remote, but the bakery was a short drive away and we made lovely day trips to nearby towns, Mont Saint-Michel and San Malo.
Having good internet provided was crucial as mobile network was a bit patchy.
All and all we had a delightful week in Fuegerolles-du-Plessis.

What a wonderful break at a welcoming and wonderfully relaxing property.
John and Ann were the perfect hosts and could not have made us more welcome.
We immediately felt like it was our house.
And such a great and peaceful location.
