About this cottage rental
This cozy cottage is located on Goose Creek just three miles outside of Lakewood. Lots of outdoor fun activities are an option as there is a boat dock and a large yard, making this a great stay for kids to enjoy also! Included with the cottage, a paddle boat will be available during your relaxing stay in this beautiful area. This cottage has recently been renovated and revamped with all new furniture, as of June 2021!

Overall our stay was very enjoyable. We had a couple hiccups in the beginning. The A.C. unit wasnt working properly. The owner was fantastic and sent someone over immediately to take a look at it. There was also a yellow jackets nest at the front of the cabin. It sounds like this has been treated a few times but its not killing them off. This is just an FYI for anyone highly allergic to them. I think an exterminator may be needed. I do recommend if you are ise to a pillowtop mattress to consider bringing an air mattress or something to help soften the bed. It was really firm.
The cabin was well equipped with kitchen supplies and we cooked dinner every night. Playing cards and puzzles were also available and we had a great time as a family utilizing them. The neighbors were really nice and it was on a quiet street. The host was amaIng to work with and prompt to reply

The place was perfect for what we were looking for. We considered this a camping trip on the lake with easy lake access by boat, so it more than satisfied our needs.
Unfortunately, our boat was too large (28’ Sea Ray) to fit down Goose Creek channel, but the location was right next to Asheville Bay Marina, so we rented a slip there for the weekend. Andy at the marina was super helpful and made sure we had everything we needed every time out on the water and was always there when we returned to help us dock the boat. He went way beyond what was expected to accommodate us.
The cottage was homey and has all basic necessities for a weekend on the lake. It is on the small side but has everything 2 people would need. I highly recommend, if you’re looking for something affordable just off the lake that satisfies simple needs. If you’re looking for fancy, it’s not the place for you!
If we decide to return to Lake Chautauqua next year, we will be booking again!!

Very nice location! Right on the water/Creek. Had no problems with anything! Will love to book this property again. So nice that they allowed pets 🐶.

There was no available heat in the house except the oven in the stove. Otherwise, the cleanliness, location, and atmosphere was great. I would definitely return for a stay.
