Cosy townhouse with log burner

Comfy beds, clean and nicely furnished. Car parking outside the property and responsive communication from the host who kindly let us check in an hour beforehand

We hoped to eat out - but hit a weekend when the restaurants were booked out so had to home cook what we could find in coop. There wasn’t a baking tray - and no wine glasses - we improvised but these would make it easier. Some of the mugs have cracks in them We weren’t sure how to recycle.

Excellent location in Dolgellau town to be able to access Cadair Idris - only a 15 minute drive to Dol Idris Car park to start the Minffordd. Beautiful property, very spacious, easy access and space to park car. Comfy bed, plenty of room to cook and relax.

No soap, washing up liquid tea or coffee in the property which we expected. Downstairs can get cold in the evening. As a light sleeper, I woke naturally when it started getting light outside so maybe some curtains would be a good idea for the summer time.

Good location in Dolgellau, a nice place to visit. The house has a good kitchen, nice double bedroom on top floor, the place feels warm and log burner works well. Shed handy for our bikes. Good value.

Sitting room a bit gloomy - better lighting, some cushions and a colourful throw would help. There’s a damp smell in bathroom, maybe a hidden leak? Outside, the window boxes have dead plants, there were thrown-out household items (a bin and radiator) and the kitchen drain was blocked so waste water was running over path: it looks uncared for. We unblocked the drain. No garden chairs for sitting in the yard on a sunny day.

We had a lovely stay and found the accommodation perfect for what we needed. It’s in a peaceful location, close to a shop (which conveniently sold logs for the log burner – a brilliant touch), and the bed was super comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped with most of what you'd expect, and overall, the house felt homely and had good bones. We read previous reviews mentioning a damp smell. We didn’t find it damp – it seemed more like a strong-smelling cleaning product used throughout the house, which may not be to everyone’s taste but didn’t bother us too much. There were a few things we noticed and have shared with the owner, such as the kitchen lighting – most of the bulbs were blown, which made it quite dim. The hairdryer didn’t work, and although the house was generally clean, it wasn’t sparkling – mirrors were a bit smeary and the outdoor space needed attention. The patio area had some weeds and dirt on the slabs, and the bins and weedy window boxes outside the kitchen window made it look a bit tired. A small thing but worth knowing: there wasn’t a dishcloth provided, which made washing up a bit awkward – we were glad we brought a spare tea towel. Also, take dishwasher tablets as none were provided, though it’s great that there is a dishwasher. One other niggle – the toilet lid leans back against you when you sit, which is a bit uncomfortable. That said, we really did enjoy our stay. The peace, the comfort of the bed, the log burner – these made it a lovely place to be. With a bit of extra attention to the finer details, this could be an absolutely top-notch place to stay. We would definitely come back.
