Really nice and attentive staff, even helped me with my bags after a huge day in the Munro’s 🏔️

We came for the fantastic seafood and location and weren’t disappointed. We had lunch and dinner in the restaurant and both meals were delicious. The staff were very welcoming and friendly . There’s a continental breakfast left in the room as the restaurant is closed in the mornings which we took with us for our train journey back .

It met our expectations

Continental breakfast, sufficed. Would have gladly paid for a cooked one, but they don't do cooking in the morning. Nice tidy room located just behind their fish restaurant. (Other places nearby offer a more varied menu, if fish isn't what you want) But a great welcoming place even if a little busy when you turn up to check in.

No option of cooked breakfast, but I did know that beforehand. No 'official' booking in area, just the 'quiet side of other bar' which staff come into but not talked to you. Seemed a bit frantic when 3 turned up to check in, no-one seemed to be available and given we were just off the train I thought someone might realise this and get rooms ready just a bit earlier, but no matter, we waited and got there in the end

Proximity to train and ferry

I had stayed in this hotel a couple of years previously when it was under different management and it was in worse condition on this stay. Mattress was obviously old and worn. Paint chipped. Towel fixture and small shelf by the sink was missing. Also, it is not sound proof—you can hear through the walls and door. Fortunately the hotel was almost empty so the noises were kept to a minimum. Finally, the price seemed too high for off season and the quality of the facilities.
